The Fallen part 9: I win

I'm screwed. I'm screwed. I'm screwed. I'm screwed. I'm screwed.
How can I beat someone who is covered in spikes and can throw them with amazing aim? I could wait until he runs out. But that would be a tad irresponsible on my part, and he can do a lot of damage with that number of spikes on his back.
Nicole and Mrs. Millers are hiding behind some stairs. I on the other hand am running around the store, dodging spikes. Throwing somethings in his crosshairs to hit instead of me. I got to the little cashier circle desk and dove into it. I need to catch my breath. I kept my head down, don't want to give an easy target. I looked around in the little stand for anything I could use. What I saw was way worse. It was a little girl, scared and shaking. She must've gotten separated or something. Holy Crap. I grabbed a white bag and motioned for the girl to keep quite. She nodded and I opened the bag and started waving it above my head. "Hey. Hey! Uh, Spike dude, uh, whatever your name is." "Its Spyker!" I looked up and he wasn't shooting any more. But he did have an angered face. "Can't you see that there are innocents here?" He started laughing. "Its too late for that. If there are people here, well, it sucks to be them doesn't it?" I couldn't believe this. I have an idea, but its risky. I ducked back down and picked up the three year old. I whispered, "Whatever you do, don't let go. OK?" I can feel her nod with tears in her eyes.
I bolted to the other side. Spyker started shooting again. I kept the baby on my right side, somewhat away from Spyker's aim as I ran up the escalator. I saw Nicole and her Mom at the assistance counter with a few other people. I ran to them. "Keep her safe." I said as I dropped the baby in Nicole's arms. I ran back to the escalator, as soon as Spyker got up to the second floor I jumped over him and bolted down to the first level. He was shooting upward as I jumped over. "Grrr. Get back here you spoiled little brat!"
Hmm. When he gets angry his spikes explode. I can use this. It's time to wrap this up. "Jeez dude. Have you EVER done this before? Is your aim always that bad, or are you just recovering from a hangover?" His face is just glowing red, perfect. I sprinted towards him. Dodging exploding spikes, he continued to shoot them when I jumped over him, just like I wanted. When I landed he said, "What was the point in that?" I smiled. "Look up." I said. He did, the roof over his head was about to collapse. I quickly ripped out one of the last remaining spikes on his back, and threw it into the roof and quickly rolled away. The roof caved in on him.
When the smoke cleared, he was passed out. We better get out of here, before he wakes up. I ran up stairs, out of breath. The people looked at me in horror. I said, "Its safe now. But you all need to get out of here." There were no questions asked. Nicole looked at me and gasped. "Gabe! Your arm!" I looked at it, it wasn't the arm that got hit it was the shoulder. It was a small spike about an inch long. It must have come from Spyker's finger tip. I had some cuts on my arms and legs, but it looks like Spyker got a direct hit. I touched it and sucked in air. That really hurt.
"Can't worry about it now. We need to get out of here before the police get here." Nicole says, "If we tell the police, we can arrest your dad." I shook my head, "That won't work, My dad has as many lawyers as a cop has donuts." She looked disappointed, despite my joke. Nicole's Mom slapped the money we owed on the counter and said, "C'mon guys, if you want to come along thats fine but, I'm outta here." We left through the fire exit in the back, got to the car and dove off.
I did this. They could've died because of me. I'll pack up my things and be on my way as soon as possible.
