I often wonder if God feels like this. High above the ground, looking onto the little people down below. Only God doesn't seek revenge. I plan on killing my father all the same. The problem is how am I going to do it?
He is going to have bodyguards, with guns; Big guns, and probably some ungodly medical who knows what waiting for its next meal. Most likely me.
I landed at the edge of my home town. I tucked in my wings tight under my clothes. No need to bring attention to myself. If I do, dear old dad will see me a mile away. I was walking around I need to see a newspaper or a TV place. Hmmm. McDonald's has TVs showing the news. I went in trying to look casual. I plop my backpack and sit in the booth where the TV is in full view. What I saw I did not like.
Here's what happened. Spyker was never found. Hunter and Miss Doomsday are wanted all over the US and all over the world. They lived my knife, and Nicole's butt kicking. So I guess that's a good news bad news moment. On top of it all my dad openly put out a hit on me. A million? A million dollars for my "safe" return? Great. At least the Millers cut and dyed my hair before the bounty hunters attacked. All I have is the knife I stole from that kid, when I escaped. Perhaps I need stock up on some gear, before I hunt him down. But where could I get the equipment I need to.....
Uh, Oh.
There is a cop watching me from across the restaurant. I pretended not to notice. I'll just slip out in a minute. The policeman got up and started towards me. Crap. Chill, just chill. He probably just thinks I'm a juvenile delinquent. "How's it going?" he asks. I shrug, "Going good." He nodded. "So got any plans? Other than sitting around here all day?" He was smiling and joking now. That comforted me a little. I said, "I'm supposed to meet with some friends, but I guess they're not coming." I lied. Normally I suck at lieing, but I think I sold this one. He nodded again. "Why don't ya buy something?" Before I could say "I'm not hungry" my stomach growls. I hold it hoping that will shut it up. The policeman, who I saw the name of Carl on his name tag, laughed. "Your friend there just proved my point." he laughed. I said, "I don't have any money, unfortunately." Which was the truth. "Well, here." He pulled out his wallet and put five dollars in front of me. Before I could say anything he put his hand up. "Don't fight with me here. Just get something to fill you up." With that he left. Before he got out the door he turned back and said, "Have a good one, and be careful." I stammered; turned around in my seat, I said, waving, "Yeah, uh, you too."
After he left I got up and ordered a simple chicken sandwich with a Coke. I think that cop knew more about me than he let on. I guess he's seen the possible new looks of me. He knew who I was. Yet, he let me go? I am so confused.
There is a million dollars on my head, and he let me go? Why?

81+1 Heroes Ch. 12: The Inside of Her Mind
The little girl our heroes seek is on her way out of Branson. Her hood hiding her face from onlookers, the same hoodie flapping in the wind as she ran. She had her regular sword in a tight grip. She was running through the woods; close enough to the road so she can see it, far enough away so that none can see her.
She doesn't know how or why, but ever since she ran from that monster in the woods, she can see things no one else can. She's stronger, faster, more athletic, and she sees the sins of those around her. She sees them as the dark creature she confronted in the woods. The wolf. She saw it everywhere. And it wants to kill. It wants to keep purity in the world, by wipping those sinners off of it. The creature was inside of her. And it used her to do it. She can hear the scary whispers it says. She only used the weapon provided to kill the creatures that surround her all the time. She saw mommy turn into the creature. She saw her recent past. Her kissing someone other than daddy.
She doesn't want to scare her brother, or Mrs. Grossman her tutor. The wolf visits her in her sleep every now and then. The more scared she became, the bigger it got. She loves her brother, but the Wolf doesn't. And it whispers that he will kill her if she didn't kill him. All this time she has only seen one person at the times the wolf has visited her. But that girl is not important. She has a world to justify, starting with the closest big city there is. Greenville, Missouri. The Wolf demands it. And she still has a long way to go.
But deep down, she wants to be left alone. Why won't the Wolf just leave her alone?
Why?

81+1 Heroes Ch. 11: Little Red Escapes
We had lots of fun. We went on every ride twice. We met everyone from the apartments. A few people were giving us the stink eye, but we didn't care. We went back an hour before they closed it. We were tired anyway. We met up with Kenny, Jessie, and the rest of our little group. We all walked back to the apartment complex. When we entered the lobby we knew something was wrong. The lights were out, and we saw Mr. Gore knocked out on the floor. Misty, Gross, and Mira went to help him. He seemed to be knocked out, not dead. Dexter wasn't interested in that though. He ran to his room, and opened the lab. Kenny, Jessie, an I were right behind him. The lab was trashed. The was a human looking robot who was cut to pieces on the floor. Beside him was a girl who was covered with cuts and bruises, oozing green blood. The cuts were fresh. Well, Dex did say she was from Venus.
We ran over to the two. The girl was still alive. Kenny got down and held her up. She opened her eyes exhaustively. "Dexter...I'm, sorry. She was too strong." was all she said. Dexter bolted upright and went to his sister's room. The big one way window was shattered. Nothing in the room was trashed. Dexter stood in the room. Then he said, "Computer!" A speaker came on. "Y-yes, Dex-Dex-Dexter?" "Alert everybody! Call the Sheriff! We need to find her, NOW!" He stormed out of the room, not even looking at me. He went to his usual desk. I went to him. "Dex, I.....I didn't think......I mean..." He cut me off. "It's not your fault. The most important thing we can do right now is find Red. Before she finds a victim. One that's human and can't heal herself."
If anyone dies tonight, it will be because of me. It will be my fault.

Cyrus Noble part 13: My Evil Plan
I shouldn't have let him go. Zero either. I really could have used their help. But for some ungodly reason, I let him do his happy dance and let him go. It strangely felt...good. Like I was supposed to do that for once. I was having a meeting between me, Jazz, Viktor, and Angie. We were sitting across from each other at a little round table in the kitchen. Me across from Jazz, and Angie across Vik. I don't know if I trust Angie just yet. She hasn't let us down, yet. But she may have info we need on the interior of the Archer Co interior. She said she never met the CEO, Bishop, just heard of him. Yeah right. Then again if something was wrong Sara would let me know first. She, Zeus, and the other kids were watching TV.
"OK. Now that all guests and bounty hunters are off the premises, how do you take out a building? One that has people, freaks, and probably a billion Pawn Troopers and Sci-fis?" Nobody answered. Angie was looking at all of us nervously. Vik was leaning back in his chair. Jazz was leaning forward with her fingers laced and her eyes closed. I was cracking my knuckles and individual fingers, which Jazz hates, but hey, its a habit. Viktor said plainly, "We could blow it up." I rolled my eyes. "Yes, thank you Viktor. I was about to suggest we throw water balloons at it. Something must be wrong with me." Mr. Sarcastic replied, "I'll say." "Guys." Jazz said, now opening her eyes. "Could we focus here?"
Then Angie squeaked, "A well placed bomb would take it out. Remember the 9-11 thing?" I do remember. The reports on it. The video itself. It was brutal, even by my standards. If there's a war to be fought, it shouldn't be fought like that. "Yes, but what about the people around it? This is between me and Bishop. I don't want anyone else hurt if I can help it." Viktor swerved his head in my direction. "You goin soft, man?" I glared at him. "Not a chance. I can still kick you teeth in, and rip your nose off." I said. Jazz then said, "I can make a bomb that'll the building collapsing on itself. But I would need to place them at every other floor. And there is the matter of the civilians..." Sara skipped in. "I can do that." she said. "I'll just give push a thought to the people in the places and they'll be safe and we explode the building and we'll win! Yay!" She said excitedly and clapping her hands. Now I know what happened to my Mountain Dew. I don't drink coffee cause, well, it gross. And I have nothing against morning soda.
Jazz then said, "Well, even then I would have to have some supplies to make the number of bombs. Not to mention the timers, the placement of them all and the goons you know Bishop will unleash on us." I grinned. "Then it won't be anything unusual for us. And as for the supplies....." I turned to Angie, as did Jazz, Viktor, and Sara. She sighed. "Oh, fine." she said.
It may be wrong, but hey, she owes us.

The Fallen part 19: I'm Back
(If you want to know what happened, read the story titled: Cyrus Noble part 12: The Fallen has Risen......or something like that)
I woke up on a couch in a strangers home. I had a weird, gruesome, horribly taunting dream. I dreamt that my wings grew back. I sat up on the couch. I wanted to jump off a cliff. One last fly to hell. I stood up. And I felt.....odd. I felt......balanced, like I'm not going to fall over. I still had my shirt off. Where is it? Whatever, I'll go look after I use the bathroom.
I was looking in the mirror. I still felt different. I stretched out my wing a little and I felt something on the other shoulder. I stretched out the other wing.
Oh. My. God. My right wing. I started laughing with tears streaming down my face. I ran out with my wings knocking down stuff, and I almost knocked over the other girl, uh, Jazz. I grabbed her sholders. Hardly able to speak I say, "My wing! My wing!" I squeeze her in a crushing bear hug. The other kids ran down the stairs trying to see what was going on. I was so happy, that's what was going on. I don't know who or what know these people are, but I was grateful and forever in their dept.
I was now fully dressed and making sure everything was in my pack. I slung it over my shoulder with a grin on my grill. Everyone was behind me. I turned to them and said, "I can't thank you enough. I wish I could repay you." Cyrus nodded, "Just, keep us a secret OK? I don't want the world knowing about me, or my family." Well, it was the least I could do. "Sure." I said. I was outside when I heard a voice in my head. It stopped me in my tracks. Are you really going to kill your dad? The voice sounded kind, and innocent, and small. Are the little blonde girl? Yes. Are you really going to do it though? Listen kid. You don't know my dad the way I do. It's not that simple. He is an evil man who doesn't care for anyone but himself. He has to be brought to justice. I don't think killing and justice are the same thing. I started walking again. You don't get it. Now get out of my head, it feels weird. She didn't say anything else.
I spread out my wings through the new slits in my clothes. I got a running start and pushed my white wings aginst the Earth. Then I was up in the air.
I was flying. I can really touch the sky again. There is absolutely nothing, and I mean nothing that is better than flying.
Nothing.

81+1 Heroes Ch. 10: I Make a Huge Mistake
A few weeks have gone by. And I already confronted three "super villains" (if that's what you can call them), and seven huge monsters. I never actually fought though, but I tried to help anyway I could. I met the regular Little Red. I don't think I did much. I got her to stare me with those huge eyes. She just keeps huddled on her red bed in her cute pink room. I wish I could help, somehow.
I already told my mother about the super kids here. After a whole lot of begging (Which I will not describe due to the embarrassing things said), she let us stay. Tempted to move down the block, but still we're staying. For Now.
It was getting close to Halloween, and everyone was certainly getting into the spirit of things. Kenny kept scaring Jessie. I on the other hand was trying to get Dexter out of his lab. It was a Friday night and the people of Branson are throwing a Autumn Festival. Stereotypical I know, but it seems fun enough. And Dexter has been working in his lab for three days straight. I think this a good time to get him out and help him chill a little.
"Oh, Come on." I said to him in dissapointment. "I can't go Noel." He said while looking in a microscope. "Sure you can. You just get up, get a shower, get some nices duds, and go. We'll go have some fun." He wheeled away to his other desk on his wheeled chair and said nothing. So I joke with him. "Then Dexter says: Fun? Error! Error! Does not compute. Does not compute." I said while doing a robot voice and some robot movements. He ignored my joke, then said, "I am too busy. I've got TVs to fix. Experiments to test. Little sisters to watch over." I sighed. "Come on. I need someone to take me. Kenny is taking Jessie. Grossman is taking someone. Even Mira is going out." He paused. Then he said, "I heard he was going with Misty the Mystic." I respond quickly. "I know, right? That's exactly my point. You and Mr. Gore are the only two people, I know or don't know, who's not going anywhere tonight. Can't you get someone else to look after your sister?" He paused whatever he was writing. He turned to me. Then, after a few minutes he said, "I'll call Xyn and Robot Robbey. Xyn is from Venus and she doesn't really take part in 'Earthling Festivals'. Robert doesn't really do anything in his free time anyway. Give me a minute and I'll meet you in the Lobby." I smiled and said, "Sweet! I promise you won't be dissapointed."
With that I ran upstairs to get ready myself.
If only I knew at the time.

Cyrus Noble part 12: The Fallen has Risen, or something like that
What happened after I opened the front door wasn't what I expected. It came down to me helping another stranger. Yeah, you heard me right. The only reason I didn't drop them where they stood was because Sara said that they needed my help, or at least she thought it towards me. I gave my blood, to Gabriel. (That's what the kid's name was.) He apparently had one of his wings cut off by his father. I gave him my blood. I don't know why. Jazz gave him my room for tonight. So know we are on opposite couches. Unfortunately I got stuck with the two seated couch. My shins dangle off the end of it. Whatever, my mind is too all over the place to go to sleep.
I saw a lot of emotions in his eyes as he was talking about the family that helped him. There was gratefulness, sorrow, and even love. Something told me he met more than just a helpful family. He fell for the girl that whooped up on him. I looked at Jazz, already asleep on the other couch. Do I feel that way, for her? She was beautiful. My best friend. It's not like I don't love the other guys, but she's different. I wonder if she feels the same for me. We grew up together, even though it was a good year and half ago when I went a-wol.
That's when I heard screaming. It wasn't screaming from my guys, but I jumped up none-the-less. Jazz jumped up too, and we were up the stares in a matter of seconds. The screaming was coming from the Master Bedroom. I slammed the door opened to see the kid squirming on the bed. Jazz was keeping the others at bay and out of the room. I ran to the other side of the bed and ripped the sheets off to get a better look at what was happening. He was wrenching in pain. He calmed down for a second for me to scream at him. "What's going on?" His response was a moan, followed by more screaming. He shot up and grabbed my throat with both hands. "What. Did. You. Put. In. ME?!" he said in huffs of breath. He was to weak to actually choke me.
He then fell doubled over on the bed. His left wing shot out. Then with a series of sickening sounds, his right wing shot out as well; covered in blood.
The blood shot out creating a few splatters on the wall. Gabriel was huffing and sucking in breath. He turned his head so he can look at the thing that shot out of his body; it broke through the stitches that were once there. He then stumbled out of the bed and into the bathroom. I helped him in there. I turned on the light. And the kid stared at the mirror, started to laugh, but it was interrupted by the sound of him throwing up in my sink.
After the kid cleaned himself up and got the few stray stitsches still in his body he went to sleep on the couch. While I cleaned up the blood stains on the wall.
I don't know if I did a great thing, or made a huge mistake.

The Fallen part 18: Cyrus Noble and His Good Deed
We stood there for a few minutes, staring at each other. Zero finally broke the silence. "Hey, Cyrus I'm-a-Mother-Hen Noble. Remember me? I tried to warn you of Longarm, and you tried to kill me?" Cyrus only glared back at him. "I'm still deciding on that." he said. He reminded me of a bear ready to defend some cubs. Judging by those kids back there, I guess he was. I noticed he had fangs; not teeth, fangs. Zero let himself in. I thought he was crazy, but his neck didn't get snapped so I guess he's OK. I stepped in cautiously. He was glaring at me all the way. Geez. His face is going to get stuck like that.
Zero and I sat in the Living Room. This was a nice house. Then I suddenly got even more nervous. Didn't my dad look at this house for a Summer home a few years back? The other kids have stayed in the dining room. Zero wasn't waisting time. "So, I'm guessing you've noticed the Archer Co. Building?" Cyrus raised an eyebrow, probably in surprise. "Yes." he said. A girl came in. She was very pretty, she had blond hair, brown eyes, baggy jeans, a simple T-shirt, and a big bulking belt. I thought I saw a spade in there or something. She said, "Cyrus? What's wrong?" She looked at Zero. From her expression I guess they met before. Zero was continuing, "I'm here to help him." he said, gesturing to me. "He needs your blood Cyrus. He is missing a limb."
Both Cyrus and Jazz looked me up and down. While I was looking at Zero. "How?" I asked him. He said, "I found you by asking around. The truck driver said he saw you and gave you a ride here. I found you and saw your....situation." Cyrus said, "He looks fine to me." Zero looked at me and said, "Its OK. You can show them." I said, almost snarling, "Why should I trust you, or them, for that matter?" Zero sighed and said, "Because, you both have something in common." I looked at Cyrus. Did he have wings too?
Regardless, I stood up and turned my back to them. I was hoping there wasn't going to be a knife there. I took off my Jacket and put it in my seat. I started to remove my shirt, and after I removed it I heard the girl whisper 'oh my god'. I could feel their eyes on my the stitches on my back. I heard a gasp from someone else. Then Cyrus yelled, "Everyone! Upstairs, Now!" He sounded like a drill Sargent. After a series of stomping and running sounds Cyrus said, "Story time. Your turn. Now." All three of us sat down. And I told them everything. (I left out Nicole's secret. As well as a few other details.) The girl put a hand over mouth when I told them about the operation. Cyrus had a expressionless face the entire time. He's either seen worse or he didn't believe a word I said. I hoped he believed me. I don't know what to do anymore. When I was done there was silence. He said, "Jazz, do you still..." He drifted off. But Jazz seemed to understand. She nodded. "Yes, but should we really..." she drifted off too. I knew what she was saying. Should we really trust him?
He nodded. She went off and came back with a needle. I shivered. A needle? Cyrus pulled up his sleeve. Jazz got the blood from him and started putting it into me. As she did this I said, "And, uh....How will this help?" She waited until she was done. Then said, "I'm not sure it will." Cyrus was pulling his sleeve back down. "It will. Remember when I lost a finger? Three days later and another one grew back." He said flexing his fingers as if they proved it. Jazz said, "You can have the master bedroom for now. Uh, Zero can, uh," She didn't finish. "Don't worry about me," said Zero, "although, I am kinda hungry." As she went to go get some garlic bread, I put my clothes back on.
I said, "I can't stay here." Cyrus smiled, there are those fangs again. "Sure you can. Besides, if one of your bounty hunters come knocking I won't hesitate to rip off the other wing." He said it so plainly I almost missed it.
Invader Izy: The Prologue
[NOTE-This is for my little sister. She Adores Invader Zim. Feel free to enjoy the story as well.]
I was sent here to watch someone. Someone who could very much destroy our empire. I am an Irken Spy. The Mighty Tallest sent me to the planet known as Earth. Ever since I had sentient thoughts of my own, I wanted to be an Invader. The Tallest saw fir to watch Zim. Zim was sent to this miserable little planet. Actually he wasn't really sent anywhere. We Irkens didn't know this stupid planet existed until Zim called to report his mission status.
I was in the Crowd the day Zim begged for his position for Impending Doom 2. I knew what he did for Impending Doom 1, I know cause I was one of the randomly selected to CLEAN IT ALL. Everyone was surprised to see he escaped his exile from Food-Courtia. I saw, heard, and knew what was happening. Mainly because I was in the first row and because Zim used MY HEAD to get onto the stage!
So, after realizing that Zim was very much alive, Almighty Tallest Miyuki and Spork assigned me to watch him. They take all the credit of course, but it is I who lets them know what is going on every day.
I also have to keep him from being exposed. Which is stupidly hard with his pathetic disguise. If he is exposed and captured he will surely blabber on about The Empire's plans and the Humans will put up one heckuva fight. Their weapons are primitive, but effective all the same. The humans known to the locals as Dib and Gaz already know his secret(s). I thought I would have to disintegrate them both, until I realized that everybody believes Dib to be insane. Gaz, on the other hand, seems to see Zim's incompetence.
I got there about a week after Zim. He hadn't exposed himself yet. I was even given a prototype S.I.R. Unit, which I called him Zir. Recently, I thought if I destroyed Zim myself, I would be rewarded. The Tallest would give ME praise, for solving their problems right here. Zim destroyed a good half of our fleet with the neighboring planet Mars.
Hehehehehe. I destroy Zim. I take his place as the NEW Invader of this pitiful planet. The thought of it makes my mouth water.

81+1 Heroes Ch. 9: Dexter Saves the Day
The monster was hunched-backed, had spikes sticking out of it's spine, was quadrepedic, and had a sideways mouth for a face. It roared and everyone looked at it, then at us, then at it again. The guys then stood up. Grossman yelled, "Finally! I thought I'd never get the chance to fight a monster this Month!" What? Kenny yelled, "Maybe we'll beat our old record!" They all ran outside. I stayed at the doorway. What can I do? I don't have any special abilities.
The monster was thrashing around and attacking everything. My Super Powered Pals were charging straight at it. Mira's hands started glowing with the colors of a rainbow, which is so weird. Her being an emo girl and all. She started running down its side, shooting the colorful energy blasts at the thing. Grossman ran right up to it and......oh my god...... I swear to you it was a big, green mushroom cloud; that seemed to have no effect. The creature lashed out, using his tongue. With it, the monster grabbed Grossman, threw him into Mira, and made a crater into the building over using both of them.
Jessie raised her arms, as if she was dragging something up. Then four Skeletons popped out of the ground, throwing some debree all over the place. They had army clothes on them, which were in tatters. The two in front of her had WWI machine guns, the two behind her had rocket launchers. She seemed completely calm, a little tired looking but, other than that she was good. She said, "Kenny! Help me out here!" The soldiers started shooting and Kenny must have helped cause the monster tried to swipe away the rockets, but they seemed to circle around it's arm and hit him anyway. In retaliation the monster swung his tail and knocked Jessie and her skeletons clear through the air. "Jessie!" Kenny shouted before he used his powers to let her down gently. The skeletons were broken instantly, but there weapons weren't. Kenny got slammed into a crater by the tail that hit Jessie.
He was moaning so I guess that means he was alive. Ever since that thing appeared out of nowhere, people were screaming and getting out of the way. But I saw that not everyone got away. I saw that the girl at the lunch table the other day was there, staring at the beast in pure horror and it was about to eat her. I grabbed that Machine gun that was dropped. Make a note that I am not and never have been trained with the usage of any kind of gun, ever. So, like a maniac I run towards the monster and opened fire, or something like that. The thing was vibrating as I shot it making it aim everywhere except where I wanted to hit it. I didn't hit anyone else, thank god, but now I have the creature's attention. It roared in my face and I fell back and pulled the trigger. Only to find that I was out of ammo. Great, Now I get to be eaten by a mutant monster....Thing. And it hasn't even been a week since we moved here.
An explosion came from the creature's side. And we both turned to see what hit it. I saw a machine. It had arms and legs, its right arm had a weapon of some sort. It also had an opened cockpit, and sitting in it was Dexter. The suit had a built in megaphone, I know this cause I heard Dexter say, "You want a fight? I'll give you one! Right here!" He fired again, an it hit the monster's side in the same spot with the power and damage of a tank. It turned and charged towards Dexter, roaring all the way. Dexter fired into the Monster's mouth.
The front half of it exploded, causing a gooey mess everywhere. I looked over at the girl that I had the displeasure of meeting yesterday. She had look of surprise on her face, she looked at me, started walking back slowly before she started running. I walked over to Dexter who was still in his suit. "You did the right thing." He said. I nodded. I started to apologize, "Look. I'm sorry about me getting involved with Red's rampage." He nodded. "Its alright. In fact if anything you helped me." "Really?" I said, brightening up. "Yes. For some reason she stopped in the middle of her attack. Because she saw you. My research indicates that when she has her 'fits' she only sees one thing replacing the regular norms around her. I'm not sure why but I think--" He was talking and getting out of the machine when someone interrupted him. "Hey Nerd!" It was the Jerk boy from the cafeteria. "Why weren't you here sooner?" He ignored them. He said to his wrist watch. "Computer, switch the Exo-Suit to auto pilot. Send it back to base." The suit then turned around and started walking back to the apartment buildings. The boys just wouldn't let up. The dude walked up to him and said, "Who's gonna clean up this crap?" Very plainly Dexter turned to him and said, "My drones will be here to dispose of any waste you see here. Derek." Derek just waved him off. "Don't bother. You'll just make a bigger mess anyway." He walked off with his goo covered friends. I was appalled. "What is there problem?" Dex just shook his head. "You can't please them all. I'll send the drones to clean up here in a minute, by then they'll be begging for my help." "Do Monsters appear here all the time?" I asked. "Not too Often. C'mon the others will need help." I nodded. "Uh, Yeah." And I went to check on Kenny and Jessie.

81+1 Heroes Ch. 8: Hanging Out
Jessie called on Saturday. At, like, 10:00. Who is up this early on a Saturday? "Hey! We heard that you stood up for us at lunch the other day. That is sooo cool! I mean there are a few people that like us, but they don't stick up for us! Not like you did! Anyway, the gang wants to know, do you wanna hang out, with us I mean?" I was sleepy, my hair is a mess, and I just want to sleep in. "Sure." I said. "Just give me a few minutes and I'll meet you in the lobby." She says back, "Well, Okay!" With that she hung up. I can only take so much pep, and she filled me up with that one phone call. I got ready for a day with my friends. I tried to be quiet for Mom's sake. I opened the door and Mom woke half-way up. "Honey.....Where you going?" She stirred. "Just out with some friends. I'll be back soon." I said. She said, yawning, "OoKay. Have a good time. And be careful." "I will Mom." With that I gently closed the door and made my way down to the lobby. I met up with Kenny, Grossman, Mira, and Jessie. I looked around, "Where's Dex?" Kenny answered, "I tried to get him up here. But he prefers to try and spend time with his sister." I nodded. I completely understand. It must be hard having a potential serial killer for a little sister. "So, uh, where we going?" Grossman answered, "To Tony's!" I gave him a funny look. "A pizza place, at 10:30?" He said. "No. We mean the Tony's down the street. It's a great Diner." Kenny stepped in, "Yeah, Gross here goes for that one arcade game there." He folded his arms and said, "You know I can't leave it alone until I get the high score." Mira said, "Oh, Please. That game has been around before they invented the wheel. For all you know you could be going against your own great grandpa." He shrugged. We all said goodbye to Mr. Gore and walked to Tony's. I hoped Dexter would come out already. I want to talk and hang out with him. Most of all, I wanted to help that poor little girl.
When we got to the Diner and Tony was the owner of the place. I recognize his kids from school. I have his his son in one of my classes. And I see his two older sisters in the hallway sometimes. We sat down in a booth beside the window and just talked. Me, Kenny and Jessie on one side, and Mira and Grossman on the other side. I decided to get all my questions out now. "So how did you guys get your powers? I've been dieing to know." They all shrugged. Kenny said, "I was born with mine." Jessie rambled, "I touched a forbidden relic in Egypt on our family vacation when I was five." Mira shrugged, "I don't remember. I think I got them when I was a really little kid." Grossman's turn. He shrugged. "My parents are convinced that I ate something radioactive." We all nodded, like that made sense. Kenny said, "They were probably right. Its called yo mamma's cooking."
Now it was on. They all started with the Yo-Mama Jokes. Even Jessie pulled out a couple of good ones. But I wasn't paying attention to that I was looking at the Giant Monster Lizard Stomping around town!

Cyrus Noble part 11: Zero and What He Brought with Him
We rushed back home and I was pacing back and forth. Everyone else was sitting on the couch, including Angie; who was spewing out a billion questions. "OK. What is going on? You guys have been, like, paranoid since we left the store. You didn't steal anything did you?" I continued saying, "No. We only steal when we have to. I am trying to figure out how to bring down that Archer Company building." She got wide eyes of terror. "What? Your going to try to take down a building? Of a respected Company, on top of that!?" Viktor stepped in, "There is nothing to respect about Archer Co." Magnet said, "They don't play fair." Sara says, while crossing her arms, "They're a bunch a jerks." Megan said, "They have a bunch of cheap tricks to pull." Jazz's turn, "They'll do anything to get rid of us." My turn. I stopped pacing. "They took away a good friend of ours." I said, remembering Arsenal. The robot that had a heart. I hadn't thought about him much. I shoulda done something, when we were captured to begin with. I realized that it was getting dark. We spent the entire day shopping, stopping at McD.'s for lunch. I needed time to think. "Jazz." I said. "I need you to make diner for the kids. I need time to think." She nodded. Then said, "Guys go play. Angie could you help with Diner? I'm not the best cook." Angie smiled, "Sure." As they got up and went to the kitchen, Sara jumped up and followed them. "Oh! Can I help? I can be a good chef!" Viktor, Megan, and Magnet went to explore the house; probably looking or something fun to break.
I wonder what a real dad would do. Am I a good dad? I do my best to protect them, I really do, but....I'm starting to think that all of them are better off without me. A real dad would know what to do. A real dad wouldn't put his family in danger to begin with. I'll go and bring the building down myself. It won't be easy, but I can do it.
We all sat at the dining room table. Jazz, Angie, and Sara made spaghetti. Everyone was looking warily at it. We never actually had it before. In the end we loved it.
We were just finishing up when there was a knock at the door. We all looked at each other, then at Angie. "Hey! Don't look at me!" She protested in a low voice.
I got up to get it. I opened the door to Smurf-Boy. Zero. Behind him was a scrawny little kid, roughly about my age. He had short black hair. He must have dyed it, I can smell the crud on him. He had a backpack and some clothes with holes and slashes in them.
Who the Heck is this?

The Fallen part 17: I Find a Friend/Foe
I was walking in Downtown Bristow. With nothing but some clothes and a weeks supply of food. All wrapped up in this old backpack. I know what I need to do, but the rage that drove me before turned cold. I am going to do it, don't get me wrong here, but I guess it became more of a mission than anything else. I could use some help. I looked at the huge, castle like building that is the Church. Maybe the Big Guy Upstairs will hear me this time.
I entered trying to look casual. Nobody gave me a second glance I sit in one of the last pews. It has been forever and a day since I was here. I remember going to a church when I was little, but since Herald took his spot as CEO we haven't been back there. I bowed my head, laced my fingers, and closed my eyes. I remember doing this at my bedside a few years ago. I admit I lost faith, but Maybe just this once...
Uh, Hey. It's me, Gabriel. I know I haven't checked up with you in a while. You see, um, I have a problem with my Father. As I'm sure you know, I use to be able to fly through the sky like one of your other creations. He did the job halfway, but it was enough to lock me onto the Earth forever. I want it back. But if that is too much to ask, I ask for this, at the very least. Kill my Father. Give me the strength to kill Herald Collin. "Pretty gruesome prayer don't ya think?" Startled I stood up and stepped back. I was getting ready to fight, because that's all I've been doing for the last couple of days. What he said next surprised me. "Relax. I'm not here to fight you." He said as he was sitting down in the isle I was in. I sat down down too, but kept my distance and never took my eyes off of him. He was dressed in all black, which included his jacket, hoodie, and boots. Not the usual visitor I would have in mind for a church. He kept his hands in his jacket pockets. I asked, "How did you know what I was praying about?" He looked at me. His hood was up and over his head, so I couldn't really see him. "You were whispering. Kinda. I almost heard you from the other end of the church." he said, casually. He was sitting back, still with his hands in his pockets, as if he was enjoying the relaxation for once. I asked, "I know enough that you're here to see me, not just to talk to me about prayers. Who are you? What do you want?" He pulled out his hands; they were blue. Was I looking at a frozen ghost? He pulled back his hood to reveal black hair, his face was blue as well, and his eyes were purely white. They didn't have irises and/or pupils. He turned to me and said, "What would you say, if I said I could fix your 'problem'?" I looked at him, "You're a bounty hunter who's after me, aren't you?" He put up is hands in defense. "The name is Zero and I'm actually trying to help you."
I laughed to myself. "Yeah, right." He sighed. "I know somebody who could help." I was starting to get angery. "Even if I believed you why would he help me, OR better yet, why are YOU helping me?" He had a really sorry look on his face. "He owes me one. As for me, well,..." He paused, searching for his own words. "...I have a conscience to clear. Let's leave it at that."
I glared at him. "If this is some sort of trick, I swear to God, I'll put you on a cross." I said with venom dripping on every word. He chuckled and said, "You sound just like him. My guy, I mean."
We exited the church and it wasn't quite dark yet. We took a bus to the edge of town. From there we took a taxi to a very specfic address. I was still wary of Zero, which means that I wouldn't shut up. "You still haven't told me who this guy is." He was yawning. "Be patient, dude. This guy will help us." "What makes you so sure?" "Cause I have nothing to hide, and niether do you, right? That's all that'll matter." Why does he sound so familiar?
We arrive at a nice looking house. It had a huge yard, and had three different floors. He knocked on the front door with me right behind him. There was a long wait. Then the door finally opened. The kid couldn't be a day over sixteen. He was tall, fairly muscular, had black hair, and had a set of dark clothes. This was the kind of guy I wouldn't even want to mess with. He looked like an animal in a people costume. Behind him I saw at least six other kids, varying in ages and styles of clothing.
Who the Heck is this?

He said as he was sitting down in the isle I was in.

The Fallen part 16: Deals
Meanwhile........
He awakened. He was on metal table with a bright light shined on his face. He doesn't remember much. He remembered being in the police van strapped down and hurting. An explosion. Men with weird weapons. A man in a black monkey suit. Spyker was starting to come around.
He heard a voice, it seemed come from no specific location. But it was there. "Hello there Mr. Spyker. I understand that you may have a few questions. I, on the other hand, have only one for you. How would you like to be more powerful than you could ever imagine?" He was straining to see who was speaking. He was so full of pain all he could say was, "Revenge." "Yes. You want revenge on the rich boy? I can give you the power to do it. In exchange, for your services." He nodded. "Do it."
Back at the Miller Residence
"This is not open for discussion, Nicole." I said as I was repacking the old backpack. Nicole was screaming at me. "I saved your life, you jerk! You can't just Leave!" She lowered her head, "You just can't...." She muttered. Her parents were standing right behind her. They weren't arguing. "You wouldn't have had to save my life if I wasn't here to begin with." I said. I walked over to the door. I was about to walk out when I stopped. I turned to the Millers one last time. "I can't thank you enough for what you have done. And, I wish I could undo the recent events of today and yesterday. Goodbye." With that I left the house of the Millers. I was down the driveway when I heard someone crying and the Slam of a door. I'm Sorry Nicole. I'll make it up to you someday. I promise.

Cyrus Noble part 10: I Find What I'm NOT Looking For
I wake up in this gigantic bed, the bedroom was huge, the furniture was nice; Where the heck?
Oh, right. Angie, the plane, and the house. I got out of bed I was still in my clothes from before. We couldn't sneak our camp stuff on the plane, not without getting caught. I looked over at the other door. It was already opened to a private bathroom. I could use a shower. I saw that it already had towels under the sink. It was a nice shower. I got redressed and left the bathroom. Jazz looked like she just entered, she had a troubled look. "Uh, Cy? We don't have any food." Great. "But Angie called a minute ago. She said that she did a lot of grocery shopping and that she needs help bringing it in." I nodded. "OK. I'll do it. Do me a favor and make sure that everyone here gets a much needed shower. I thought I had tan here, but it turned out to be dirt." She smiled. "When will she be here?" I asked. "Now." "Oh." I went outside and dragged in everything, Angie bought. She was telling me that she got extra keys for us, food that will last a week or two, and some other minor things like toothbrushes and deodorant. I guess we need that stuff. Never had it before but I guess we need it. I know you are supposed to brush you teeth, but that's a little hard for us to do. You know with being on the run and all.
Angie suggested we go shopping for clothes. Jazz was all for it. The rest of us were like meh. Zues flew inside the house and we thought he'd be OK for a little while. It was a miracle we got anywhere at all. The First store we went to was closed do to a freak accident. Whatever that means. I could see inside the store. It looks like a part of the roof collapsed and a metal porcupine exploded. Jazz glared at me. I swore I didn't do anything. I couldn't blame her, I snuck out of the hotel room and fought Zero at a store, remember? (read Cyrus Noble part III)
It was weird. Going into a store and NOT planning to steal anything. We split into two groups, one for the girls and one for the guys. We grabbed some shirts and jeans that fit us. We had to peel Magnet away from the funny T-shirts. He was reading them to Viktor, but even he had a limit. We met back at the cashier. She was eyeballing us, but she let Angie pay for it all. Hey, it's her money. She wants to help us, and this was her idea. I can't be responsible for other people's actions.
We all carried our own stuff to the ca-limo, except for Sara and Magnet of course. Magnet insisted, but he was struggling to not use his powers. As we were loading the car, I looked around in the sky. Just for no reason. Then that's when I saw it. The skyscraper. There weren't too many skyscrapers in the city, but this one I saw the company it was for. It was Archer Co. And I imagined Bishop watching us from his office window and smiling wickedly. A new anger ran through me, Warming me in the Autumn air. That building had to come down now.

The Fallen part 15: Ruthless Combination
While I was being pinned, Hunter and Doomsday were busy. Hunter shot Doomsday's Magnum out of her hand. After a series of back flips and cartwheels Doomsday hid behind a mound of crates. Hunter kept firing and then ran out of bullets. He tossed the gauntlet aside and pulled out his Machete'. Doomsday revealed herself and was holding two fighting knives backwards. They started going at it.
Meanwhile, Nicole pokes her head out from under the entrance. She puts her finger to her lips, signaling me to keep quiet. She looked around and saw that everyone was preoccupied with killing each other. She went over to me and dragged the carcase off of me. She saw the knife on his belt and grabbed it. The plastic cuffs were no problem without the knife, it was the bolas that tied up my feet that was the problem. (Note: Bolas- Three balls attached to three tied up strings. Designed for screwing up any one person's chance for escape.) Anyway we got them free and Doomsday got a glimpse of us. That's all she needed. Hunter saw us too. "Troopers! Kill the girl! Secure the boy!" Hunter yelled in Spanish. I'm failing Spanish, but I think he generally said the same thing. But what they failed to realize is that the minions killed each other. Hunter's last minion died due to a Russian Ballistics Knife. Miss Doomsday's trooper died to the new implants of lead in his head.
Hunter and Doomsday looked at each other, nodded, and started walking towards us in unison. Crap. We were standing now; I snatched the knife and held it out against the too. "Unless, you want metal in your head I suggest you stay where you are." I said, trying to sound menacing. They didn't even slow down by a fraction. I felt a button on the handle, I aimed it at Hunter and pressed it. The blade shot out and got him in the stomach. He doubled over in pain. Doomsday only glanced a him and moved in on me. Great, I made the deadly assassin's job easier.
We had other ideas. I grabbed her right arm and wrenched the knife out of her hand, Miss Doomsday would have her other knife in my back if Nicole didn't do the same thing with her left arm. I kneed her in the stomach causing her to double over, she looked up and ahead of her just in time to see Nicole's foot come over her own body and land a solid on the bounty's face. We let her stumble backward. As she held her face Nicole flew and stepped up her body in the air, making sure she landed that last step on Doomsday's face. I followed up behind her and landed one solid punch on her face. Making the jaw bone crack and the nose gush blood. She landed on her back knocked out cold on the floor. I looked at the mess I made. All these people died, some are soon on their way. Nicole called the police and told them the address. After she hung up, I said, "These people could have lived." Nicole's voice came from behind me, "They were criminals, Gabe. You can't save everybody." "Still, I would feel better knowing they were in jail rather than a grave." She shrugged, then, "C'mon. The police station is not too far from here. We need to get a move on if we're gonna escape." I nodded. She wrapped her arms around me and used her wings to push herself against the Earth's gravity. Soon we were on our way to the house where I am about to be kicked out of for sure.
It was nice while it lasted.

Cyrus Noble part 9: We get home
We were able to sneak out of the airport. We called Angie once we were out. She told us to meet her at a certain address. And now we were waiting on her. I really hope she gets here soon. It was getting dark, We were all still sleepy, and the people around us are starting to eyeball us. I was holding Sara and she fell asleep on my shoulder. Magnet is next and soon we'd all be out of it. Zues looked on top of it though, as he rested on Viktor's shoulder. Then we see a limo coming around the corner. Angie got out and said, "Hey guys. Sorry it took so long, I had to break away from my dad. Get in." We all piled into the limo. Angie gave the driver an address and we were on our way.
We arrived to a house that was out in the country. Just shy of being outside DC. It was a big house, with lots of yard. I could see that much. I can't see much more detail other than that. Angie said something to the driver and ran to catch up with us. We got to the front door of our really long driveway. Jazz was holding Magnet now, and Megan was starting to lumber around. Angie looked a little out of it too. None the less, she gotta key out and opened the front door. We all entered. And turned a couple lights on.
It was amazing. High ceilings, a lot of rooms, Furniture already here? Angie said, "Follow me. The bedrooms are upstairs." I said, "Angie. Why is there already furniture here?" She turned and said, "Oh. The old owner built this house for his family. But they all left him, and he died of a heart attack soon after. The poor man had only one friend, my dad. And My dad inherited the house. Nobody wants to by it though." I can't imagine why. I let Sara down on the bed of a room that looks like it was made for a little girl, She curled up and smiled in her sleep. We all found different bedrooms and started to crash. Except Me and Jazz. Angie left and said she would try to get here tommorow. Zues stayed outside. There was the Master Bedroom left. We saw the problem. And me being an idiot, said, "I'll take the couch." Before I could take a step anywhere, Jazz grabbed me. "Oooh No. You think just because I'm a girl, you think I can't sleep anywhere else except a bed? You take the bed, I'll take the couch." She shoves me into the master bedroom and stomps downstairs. "I was trying to be nice!" I called out after her. I sighed.
Do guys usually understand girls? Cause I could sure use some advice here.

81+1 Heroes Ch. 7: I'm Given an Offer
The rest of the week went on uneventfully. Dexter and I didn't really talk to each other. Either he was really mad at me or really ashamed. I'm a bit ashamed to. Today was Friday, and it was an odd day, meaning I didn't really get to see my friends today. I was at lunch when this little group came up. Three guys, and two girls. They sat beside and across me. The bigger guy of the group said, "Hey. Today is your lucky day. You see we've been watching you, and we heard that you don't have a problem." I looked at him funny. "I mean your not like those other freaks you moved in with. But. Just because you moved in with them doesn't mean you have to hang with them." One of the other girls said, "You see, life gets easy here when your not 'Special'." She put quotes in the air when she said 'Special'. I said, fairly irritated, "What's wrong with being, as you say, 'special'?" They all laughed. "For one thing they smell." One the other guys said. The other girl said, "And did you see that one pale cheerleader loving up on that basketball psychic freak? She is a total--" I slammed the table and stood up. "You can't talk about my friends like that!" They all looked at me. As did most of the Lunch room. The first guy stood up slowly, and said, "Are you saying, you'd rather hang out with a bunch a freaks, rather than us?" He asked really slowly. I said back, "They're better people than you bunch of country hicks." With that I grabbed my bagged lunch and marched out of the lunch room and towards the library. Yeah, That felt good.
I was about to get to the Library when I felt a firm hand on my shoulder and I froze. I heard the Principal's voice, "That was a very brave thing you did." I spun around to see Principal Richard. The guys said he was cool with us, so I calmed down a bit. "Am I in trouble?" I asked. He laughed a little, "No, no. I just wanted to speak to you about our school. You see, I realized that since you don't have special abilities like your friends, I would like to recommend the Kendo team we have." I looked at him, "Really?" He nodded. Then he said, "Believe it or not, there are some incidents that happen in this town. And we put up the class mainly for the student's safety. So that they may learn to defend themselves. Plus its invigorating as a sport." "I don't know." I said, thinking about it. Then he said, "It will replace your current schedule for gym." Without a second thought I said, "Deal." Then we shook hands. Cause I just realized, I had gym on Monday with a crabby lady and all five of those jerks from the lunch room. He smiled, "Your knew schedule will be put into affect Monday morning. Enjoy your lunch." I smiled, waved goodbye, and then proceeded to the library. "You two. Thanks Principal Richards."

81+1 Heroes Ch. 6: I Settle Down a Tantrum
After I've settled down enough I went to Dexter's room. The door was opened already. As was the Lab door. I walked in. "Dexter? Where are you? I want to talk to you about something." I saw some stairs leading to a higher level, Dexter was at the top, halfway out the door leading into the next room. He had a panicked look on his face. "You have to leave! Now!" He yelled. There was a sound of an explosion and he ducked back into the room. I followed him.
The room was an observatory placed high above the ground. The room it was observing was a huge empty room. On the other end was a Big Metal Door. I recognized the room. I was down here the other day. Before I saw Dexter's.......Oh No. Soon the room was filled with Big robots and giant machines. Turrets popped out of the ceiling. Is today a.....Today is the Full Moon! He spent the day preparing for this!
I heard Dexter mutter, "She's never gotten this far before." I looked at the guns attached to the machines. "Your not seriously going to kill your sister are you?!" He looked at me. "Kill her? What? Its all stun grenades and sleeping darts! Who told you about her?" He looked angry. I never got to say my answer. The big metal door on the other side of the room fell to pieces. And standing there was a little girl, who couldn't be any more than nine. And fear swallowed my heart whole.
She had short jeans, tennis shoes, a white t-shirt, and red hoody that was three sizes too big. The hood of it was on. She had light brown hair. Her eyes were a deep ocean blue and her face....... No young face should look so tired, so aged, so angry. What scared me was that she looked like she was wearing her own shadow and she held a strange looking sword. Attaching the handle to the blade was what looked like a metal wolf's head, pointing towards the end of the blade. There was a pause Dexter said into the microphone, "Open Fire!" and the machines obeyed.
She started by blocking the first few darts. Then she threw the sword to her right, as it was spinning it turned in the middle of the air. And it sliced all the guns that were pointed at her. One Android tried to shoot it out of the air, but it missed, and it skewered it in the chest. Red ran towards it, grabbed the sword and continued to destroy. She was an athlete, a miniature athlete of destruction. She was jumping twenty feet in the air. I just saw her punch a dent into a robot that a car could make and kick the head off of another android. Every dart either missed or she deflected it, every stun grenade didn't seem to have any effect.
Soon there was nothing but ruble. She was now hanging just outside the window. She swung the sword back then I made eye contact with her. She stopped dead in her tracks. We stared at each other for a few minutes. The Darkness around her lightened up a little. Dexter moved very slowly, he pushed two different buttons. Suddenly gas sprayed in her face from under the window, after coughing erratically she fell. I ran and pressed myself against the glass. She fell on an air mat, with the sword landing beside it. She was out cold.
Then I did the most stupid thing I have ever done in my life. I found the door leading down to the arena and ran through it, ignoring Dexter's callings. I went to she if she was OK. She was, mostly. Dexter shoved me out of the way. He picked her up gently and started walking towards the exit. Bfore I followed them I glanced back to look at the sword. It wasn't there.
We got to a different room. I don't know if it was the same room she was in before, but it had a window right beside the door. He set her on the bed ever so delicately. He kissed her on her cheek and left. I didn't go into the room. When Dexter came out he sealed the door behind him. Without looking at me he said, "You should leave." He started to lumber off. I called out to him, "Dexter! I want to help. You don't have to do this by yourself. If you just opened--" He cut me off, "Just, leave. I wish to be alone." He sat at a desk and buried his head in his hands. I wanted to stay, but I guess I should just leave.
I didn't get a lot a sleep that night.

81+1 Heroes Ch. 5: Little Red
The next day I didn't see Dexter at school. I had to know what is going on. I met up with Grossman after school. "Hey, uh, Grossman?" The big guy turned and smiled, "Oh, hey new girl. What's up?" We started walking back home. "I need to ask you about something." He nodded. "OK. Shoot." "I need to know about Dexter. Somethings wrong and I want to help him but he won't tell me what's wrong." He said nothing. "Oh, please! I really want to help him but I can't if I don't know what's wrong." He looked at me in the eyes then sighed. He said, "Evertone has a different story, Dexter's is on of the less pleasant ones. Unlike Dexter I was born and raised here. He moved here about three years ago.
He was a genius from the start. With a Photographic memory. His Mom died a year ago so he lives by himself with his sister. His dad is in the Airforce so he doesn't get to see him much." I said, "Dexter has a sister?" He smiled, "Yeah, she's adorable. She found a red hoody that her mother use to wear. She wore it and never took it off. We all called her little red, to humor her." Of Course. "But the real problem happened when Red went missing. I remember that day. It was before his Mom died. We were having a family barbecue, everyone was there. Including Dex's dad. We all got distracted and Dexter's sister wandered off into the woods. At least, that's what we figured. She was missing for a whole two days. But we never stopped. We found her, she was scared and had some scratches on her but other than that she was fine. But, that was before we found out her new abilities. She kept on having these 'fits' and Dexter ended up locking her in his lab until she calmed down. These weren't regular tantrums that little kid has. They always happen during the night of a full moon." He shook his head. "It's hard to explain." I looked at him. We were almost there now. "What does she turn into a Were-Wolf or something?" He shook his head. "Worse, she turns into a mentally disturbed killing machine. Dexter still hasn't figured out where she got it. She only got out once. And she killed the firt person she saw." He stopped there. This was getting hard for him to say. "Remember when I said his mom died?" I nodded. He made a gesture with his hands that said, 'Well, there you go.'
I put my hand over my mouth. I think I'm going to throw up. "You Okay?" I heard Gross say. I nodded. I wiped my eyes and said, "Thank you." He nodded. "No problem. You sure your OK?" "Yeah I'm sure." I lied. I went to my room and started crying my eyes out.

The Fallen part 14: Miss Doomsday
They still haven't removed my blind fold. They unclasped my cuffs and sat me down in a chair. They clipped them back on behind me. It was getting colder. The signs of Fall turning into Winter. I heard Hunter talking to me. "Hey there Punk-Rock. Da' Hell did you do to you hair? Woooowee If I had hair like you did the other day, I'd be in bed with a lady right now!" His lackeys started laughing it up. I said, "In other words its just you and your lackeys tonight?" In a flash he ripped off the blindfold and held a Machete' to my neck. "You got a smart mouth on ya. If your daddy didn't want you alive I'd have me a hangin right now." I heard myself say with a terrible Australian Accent, "Now that's a knoife!" (Sorry, old movie. Look up 'Crocodile Dundee') I saw that we were in an abandoned warehouse that must have been a auto shop of some kind.
I never got an actual look at Hunter. He had a light brown poncho, combat boots, a tech helmet that gave four different eye glasses to his left eye, and a big brown cowboy hat that could give shade to Dumbo and his Mother. "Holy Crap." I said. Not knowing when to shut up. He smiled, "What's the matter, never saw a high-tech Hunter before?" "No. I'm just surprised that a old country hick could have access to that stuff." He was turning red. His minions were dieing of laughter, but I wasn't going to get my hopes up. If there's anything I know how to do, its ticking people off. Just ask my Mom, my Teachers, and well, most of the adults I meet.
He lowered his blade and started to walk away. He stopped dead in his tracks when he heard a chopper overhead. Normally, that would be nothing unusual in a city. However, that chopper was way too close to just be passing overhead. Suddenly the roof seemed to explode. When the smoke cleared, there was a battle-chopper, with guns and missiles and everything else. Troopers started spilling through the hole. But these were no policeman troopers, they had black body suits, and had pictures of skulls on their shoulder. While Hunter's minions just had Cameo Jackets with crossed AK-47s and a line under it on the shoulder of the jackets. A single tether with a spike and a circular stand shot out of the air and planted itself into the ground. A full grown woman slides down it like its a fireman's pole. When she landed the tether rose back up, leaving two different teams of Mercenaries.
The woman had long black hair, and had a full body suit just like the others. Except she had one single skull on her front. Like a female Punisher (Comic book character, look him up.) and she had no mask, unlike her little soldiers. That says a few things, She's not afraid to let people see her face because you probably don't live long enough to remember it, and she's got nothing to lose. The reason the area hasn't exploded with gunfire was because Hunter yelled something in Spanish when the roof exploded. Hunter had the first say, "Miss Doomsday. So glad to see you again, Avery." She just glared at him, "That was a name for an amateur, Hun-tar!" She had a Russian accent. She calmed herself, then continued, "Just give me the boy, and I promise that most of your body will be intact." She said, pulling out a Magnum and pointing it at the other hunter. Hunter looked at the odds. It was ten cowboys versus seven ninjas. He smiled, "What? You mean you didn't miss me?" He held out his left arm which had a gauntlet covering it. Two muzzles came out from the top of the arm. "That's OK. Cause I didn't either." He started to open fire, it was a spray bullet gun so they really didn't hit anything. But the ones that did were deflected by the bullet proof bodysuits they had. As soon as Hunter opened fire the rest followed. And the room exploded with gunshots and bullets whizzing past my head.
I tipped over the chair to make sure it was harder for them to hit me. I slid away from the chair, but my hands are still tied behind my back. I looked at the truck docking entrances. There was the van that picked me up. I bolted for the exits. But something caught my legs and I fell on my face. One of the Troopers spoke right next to me. "Stay here. You'll live longer." There was that strong Russian speaking again. It was there too when he got shot, screamed out in agony, and fell on top of me; pinning me to the ground.
Needless to say, this isn't going well. What I'd give just to fly outta.....

The Fallen part 13: A Little Outside Help
The thugs tied a blindfold around my head as soon as we started moving. And they put plastic cuffs on my wrists. They aren't letting me go anywhere. I didn't say anything and neither did they. And That's just fine with me. I was sitting there for a while now. My mind started to wander, I'm like ADD; I can't just sit there with nothing to do. I thought back to how this all started. The Car, the Operating room, all having happened just a few days ago. Not even a week. The Millers, who are the single most greatest thing that ever happened in my life. Nicole, her features and personality perfected her. I wish I did something for that family rather than just letting them do whatever for me. I guess that's my inner rich brat kid working. I swear, I'm going to do something for that family. Right after I kill my father.
The van finally stopped. I wonder what Nicole is doing right now....
At the Miller's Home
"We can't just sit here and not do anything!" Nicole said. She was pacing back and forth in the living room. Her parents were sitting on the couch watching her. She never got this upset before. "We got to call the police! The FBI! The CIA! SOMEBODY has to help him!" She stopped dead in her tracks. She just hatched an idea. There is somebody who can help Gabriel. She picked up Hunter's cellphone and dashed to her room.
She got on her computer and hoped he was online at the moment. He was. She let out a big sigh and E-mailed him.
"Raph! I'm in trouble!"
He E-mailed back, "Hey Nicole I haven't seen you in forever. Whats wrong?"
"No time for catching up. A friend of mine is in huge trouble. If I give you the cell number can u track the most recent call?"
"Maybe. Give me the number and I'll see what I can do."
(A few minutes later) "Here I E-mailed the directions to your I-touch. Go to Google directions and it will do the rest. Good luck."
"Thnx. I owe u another big one."
She went to her closet, and chose her 'special shirt and jacket.' Which is just a set of clohes she set aside, they have big slits in the back for her wings to poke through. She changed quickly let her wings stretch out through the slits on her clothes, and bolted out the door before her parents could say a word. Its been a while since she's flew. She got a running start down the street. Pushed downward with her powerful fifteen foot wings. And soon she was on her way.

Cyrus Noble: Intermissionof 8 and 9
As we flew the rest of the way to Washington DC, I sat back and let my mind wander. I saved the plane fom being destroyed. But only because my family was on it. Does that make me selfish? There are innocent people on this plane, however innocent I don't thik I'll ever know.
How much is a life worth? I'd give up my life in a heartbeat if it meant saving any one of my guys. I don't know anthing anymore. I started rubbing my eyes with the palms of my hands. Sara looked back down the row at me. I gave her the thumbs up to reasure her but I know she's been reading my mind. She turned back in her seat.
I am not human, I know that much is true. Why should I stick my neck out for them? It's not like I owe them aything. I thought back to every movie story moral I can think of. I remembered Hellboy, Spiderman, Terminator. Then I thought of National Treasure. Good movie, but there was one quote I remembered that kept coming back for some reason. "Those who have the ability to do something about a situation, have the responsibility to."
Is this how Jazz feels? Is this how the guys feel about other people? I watched as Sara played with the other little girl beside her, the man helping Magnet with his little television set, Viktor and the chick laughing about something, Megan having a conversation with Angie. And Jazz having a having an electronics debate with some old looking dude who must've been a scientist.
Maybe Humans aren't as bad as I take them for.

The Fallen part 12: Hunter
On the way home Mrs. Millers turned to me from her front seat. "Hey, Gabe. I was in the Halloween section at the store, to see if there were any costumes we could use all dress up in. And I found this." She pulled out a bottle of black hair dye. I nodded, "That'll be perfect." She smiled and turned back in her seat.
We got home and in a few minutes they had me in a chair dying my hair black. The dogs circling me and sniffing my feet. We were done in the next hour. I looked in the bathroom mirror. "Uh, Oh." I said. "What's wrong?" Nicole asked. I turned to her and said, "I look like Edward, from Twilight." She was dieing of laughter now. At that instant the doorbell rang I dove upstairs with Nicole behind me. Mr. Miller opened it and I strained to listen. "Hello?" No one answered back. Soon the door closed and I heard Mr. Miller's questioning voice. "What..." Nicole and I were back downstairs with the Mr. and Mrs. I asked, "What is it?" He shook his head. "It has this address, and it has your name on it." He gave it to me and I looked at it. It is. I started to open it but Nicole said, "No! Gabe, what if its a bomb or something?" I looked at her. "Well in that case go into the other room." With Mr. Miller half forcing her, Nicole and Mrs. Miller went into the kitchen. The Dogs followed them. I opened the wrappings, the box wasn't even tapped. I opened the box to a......Cell Phone?
Before I could say anything it rang. It had a cheerful little jingle (ding-ding-dang-dong), which is the opposite of what I was thinking (Duh-duh-duuuuuuh).
I answered. "Hello?" There was a gruff voice on the other end. "That cowboy you fought in the store was an amateur. Your messing with the big leagues now." I demanded, "Who is this?" "I always hated you rich snot nosed brats. Your daddy sends his regards." I almost broke the phone. "Bounty Hunter." I muttered. "Actually its just Hunter. And its my game as well, Billy-Bong. Now lets get somethin' straight here. Rule One: If I hear a little phone call going anywhere, one of you gets a bullet in your head. I don't know, it could be the Mommy, or the Daddy, or it could be..." I cut him off, "Don't you dare. I swear, I am going to meet you face to face and I will tear you to pieces." I could almost hear him smiling as he finished his sentence, "Your little Girlfriend." My heart sped up little in my chest. "Rule Two: No running now. I can just as easily kill you out in the open just as inside. You see. I have special equipment here, some fancy stuff. With it I can see all four of you in the house, and with my sweetheart, Delilah, here; I can kill a fly a mile away, through four feet of concrete. So there is no safe place for you or the others." He stopped talking to let that set in. "Tell you what. I am going to give you sixty seconds to think this over. A van will be parked out front waiting for you. Either way dude, I win. How many people die is up to you.....forty five seconds, and counting."
With that he hung up. I dropped the phone next to the box and started pacing. Great, Excellent, Fantastic! Another Maniac is on me. And this one is good. What am I going to do?
The Millers were watching me. They stopped hiding when I answered the phone. They got the gist of it. I go or we all die. "I'll go." I said. Mr. and Mrs. Miller said nothing. Nicole on the other hand......
"No, NO! I'm not going to let you do this." I looked at her, "You don't have a say in this matter." I picked up the cell phone and called Hunter back. He was the only one in the phone book, next to the number 9-1-1. He just loves eggin on his victims doesn't he? I called him. "I'm ready, is the van here yet?" "Its there. I'll see you soon. And another thing. I'm rather.....disappointed." I hung up.
The white van was sitting there, engine running. I walked over to it and the door slid open to four guys in the van; all eyes on me. The passenger and the two guys in the back were holding guns. I got in, the door closed, and we all drove off.

The Fallen part 11: Haircut
I woke up after having a restless nap. I didn't fall asleep till like 1:00. I got up wondering if I just dreamt it. I went outside the room, and Nicole met up with me in the hallway. "Sleep good?" I shook my head, "Not really. Not when you know there might be another bounty hunter outside your window." She smiled. "Not to mention, the fact that I just put you guys in danger." The smile dissappeared. "I thought we settled this last night. I spent the last sixteen years of my life wondering if there are anyne else out there who are like me. And after I finally find one who needs my help, I'm not letting you out of my sight." She gave me a peck on the cheek and went downstairs.
Was she flirting with me? "Hey! We're getting you a haircut today! We're gonna try to make you look good!" Yeah, she's flirting with me.
After a breakfast of poptarts, we all got into the P.T. Cruiser and went to the closest Hair Cuttery. I am awestruck with fear. I've gotten haircuts before. It's just the Bounty Hunters that have a price on my head. When I signed my name I signed it Andrew Miller. It was harmless enough. Andrew is my middle name. The waiting area was too crowded, so the Mr. and Mrs. were waiting outside. Right outside. No doubt Mr. Miller wasn't going to let me out of his sight. I don't blame him.
I was looking around for, well, anything. Not much to read/do in a Hair Cuttery. There was a woman beside me, holding a baby. It was the three-year-old from yeserday! The three-year-old reconized me too. She started saying something. "Mom-ma. Mom-ma." The mom asked her, "What is it honey?" The baby pointed at me, "Angel! Angel!" The mom looked at me and started laughing. "Yes, honey. He has nice blondie hair doesn't he?" The baby ignored her and kept calling me an Angel. I was blushing and everyone was chuckling now. I looked at Nicole and she had her hand over her mouth, laughing.
The lady called my name. I went up and said I would like it really short. "Really? You sure?" I nodded. "Just trying something different." She shrugged. "Alright, Angel boy. Sit here." She continued to wash my hair and then sat me at a different seat. Then cut my hair. It felt like two hours. She was nice, tried to strike up a conversation evey now and then. When she was done I looked totally different. I liked it. I kinda had a cowlick sticking up but thats OK.
We paid her and went on our way. And I made the mistake of letting my gaurd down...

81+1 Heroes Ch. 4: The Repair Man
Anyway I was just sitting there watching TV and doing homework. I know that may not be the best strategy for schoolwork, but I just snap into focus when there is other stuff going on around me. Anyway, I was finishing up my math when the TV started messing up. Oh, Great. I better fix it before mom gets home. I went downstairs and to the Doorman known as Mr. Gore. I saw Mr. Gore on the way to school and back. He hasn't uttered a word. He had gray, wrinkly skin and If anything he looks like a Zombie. Of Course, I'm not about to say this to someones face. He was reading a book with a black cover. "Uh, excuse me." I said, feeling rather uncomfortable now. He grunted to show I had his attention. "My TV isn't working and I was hoping I could find the repair man?" He grunted and pointed over to the cork board covered in papers. The was a yellow sheet that said:
Repair Man
Room B1
"Oh, I go here to see him?" He grunted and nodded. "Oh, OK. Thanks." I went to the room, which happens to be the basement. I knocked on the door and when nobody answered I cracked the door slightly. "Uh, Hello? Mr. Repair Man?" I was a little scared about this. It looked like a simple bedroom. With a dresser, a bed, a door that lead to the bathroom. What, the dude doesn't have a kitchen? I saw, on the other side of the room, a little white box. A clean white box, in a slightly dirty room, it kinda sticks out like a sore thumb. Curiosity got the better of me. I opened the box to see a credit card swipe. What is this for?
Just then the little box door slammed shut, folded itself into the wall and was covered up by more wall. Then the wall started to slide upward. It was hiding a metal door that slid back and revealed a total change in scenery. "What?" I heard myself say. I went inside and walked around. Oh My Gosh, it's huge! It looks like a lab!
Well since I'm here. I might as well look around. I didn't know Dexter had a lab. Heh. That's Not going to help with the teasing. I heard something in the distance. After a turn here and there. I saw a sealed door next to a big window. All I saw in there was darkness. I pressed myself against the glass, trying to see anything in there. Something hit the glass causing me to fall over. I got up and started to run, when I bumped into someone. I gasped out of surprise, "Dexter! I, um, The, uh, TV in my room is broken and I need help to fix it." His face showed no expression. "You should not be here. Not in this area anyway." We stood there for a moment until he said, "I need to fix something here real quick. I'll meet you in the lobby." I nodded, not trusting my own voice. He went back to the I-pad he was holding, and I left, embarrassed.
My mouth wanted to ask a billion questions, say sorry a trillion times, and a lot more. I sat in the lobby waiting for Dexter to come up. I didn't wait long. Dexter came up and we walked to the apartment. We were inside with Dexter fixing the TV. I was sitting on the couch. "You just dropped the signal. When I'm done it shouldn't do that anymore." I nodded. I couldn't help but ask. "Dexter?" He didn't look up from his work. "I'm sorry for going into your lab." Still not looking up he said, "Anyone is welcome to go to my lab. But How did you get in? I was going to give you the approval code today, but I thought I would wait until you got a little more comfortable with the residence of the apartment." I nodded. "The door just opened by itself." He muttered, "Great, another Computer malfunction. I can't afford one right now. I got to fix that by tommorow." He was just finishing and was about to leave when I stopped him. "Wait. Dexter, who was that? In that dark room, I thought I saw somebody." His face darkened. And I knew I asked the wrong question. "Come by my lab if you need anymore help." And with that he left. Great, you just gave a good impression of your nosiness Noel.

Cyrus Noble part 8: Saved the Day......for other people?
I am holding a bomb, on a plane, with my family on it. Without a second thought I said, "Jazz!" Jazz saw it, muttered 'Oh my God', then scrambled over to me. She pulled out a small flashlight and gave it to me. "Hold this" she said. I did and I held the light at her hands. She started working. There were thirty minutes on the timer, but still. I had an idea that we could open something and throw it out. But I watched movies where anyone who did that were liked sucked out of the plane. Within a minute she deactivated it. Thank God Jazz is as smart as she is. Jazz continued to examine it. Just as soon as we all started breathing relaxation. We had another problem. "Cyrus! There is only enough explosives here to blow up the cargo area." I looked at her. "So? You deactivated it right?" "Yes, but, If someone is going to blow up a plane they would need five times as much as this." I continued to look at her, confused. She rolled her eyes. "Which means the person trying to do this has either secretly lined the plane with this stuff, or he has six or seven followers willing to blow themselves up." If this plane goes down then so do we. Sara speaks now, "Don't forget the other people on this plane, Cyrus." I ignored her. I went over to the door that leads to inside the plane. I went inside. The interior is nice. Every fiber of my being is saying 'No, don't attract attention to you' But I have to do this. I got up to the passenger part of the plane. I saw one of the flight attendants and caught up with her. I towered over her. I asked, "May I say something to you in private?" She looked me up and down. "Its important." I said. She sighed and said, "Follow me." We were at the pilot's cockpit, or at least right next to it. I said, "I think there are bombers on the plane."
The look on her face described every form of fear there is. She called the pilot over here. She told him what I told her. While they were arguing I got an idea. I ran back to the hatch that lead back to the cargo hull, seeing Angie looking at me with eyes as wide as saucers. I opened the floor hatch to see Jazz there. "I need you and Sara. Everyone else stay here. If I call you, find a way to get off the plane, use your imagination. I know if anyone can do it, its you guys." They looked disappointed as I closed the hatch behind Sara and Jazz.
I carried Sara with Jazz right behind me. Everyone was eyeballing us now But I don't give a Rat's........tail. The pilot and flight attendant were looking for me. I said, "I know how to find them." The lady just looked irritated now. "Trust me." She just rubbed her forehead. I whispered to Sara, "O.K., kiddo. Where are they?" She put two fingers to her temples. She pointed to an average Joe with the zipped up jacket, two rows behind us. He stood up and held up a trigger. He started yelling but he stopped abruptly. Then he let go of the trigger and passed out. Jazz then unzipped his Jacket and defused the bomb. We did this six more times and everyone was just watching, some of them screamed when the bombers revealed themselves. Everyone else was just too scared to act. What was weird, I've seen the news recently, and aren't bombers these days supposed to be like Arab or something? All these guys are white. After deactivating the last bomb. We tied them up and had some of the guys on the plane look after them in the back. The rest of my family got up out of the cargo area and the flight attendant looked at us. She said, "You just saved everyone's life. How can we repay you?" I looked at us then back at her. "Can we get some food, and sit where they were sitting?" I said, gesturing towards the bombers. She nodded, "Of Course." "Oh, and could you not mention us....at all." She had a questioning look on her face. "Just please, I..." She then sighed and said, "Fine." I nodded. "Thank you. The gang was kind of spread out on the plane. There was a free seat next to Angie that was soon taken by Megan. Viktor was sitting next to some chick. Jazz was already asleep in her seat. Magnet started messing around with the little TV set in front of him. Sara was sitting next to a little girl about her age. The only seat available was one next to a baby and her mom. I sat down nice and easy trying not to set anything off. "Thank you." I turned to the voice, it was the mother. "You saved everyone on this plane, including my baby." I looked at the peaceful little infant, sleeping in her baby carriage between me and her mother. She must've been a couple monhs old at least. I wasn't sure how to take this. "It was, uh, no problem." I sat back and stared off into space. My boot hit something on the floor, I bent over to pick it up. It was a teething ring. "Uh, I think your baby dropped this." I said. She took it. "Thank you." she said again.
How am I suppossed to respond to that?

Cyrus Noble part 7: This will be a Blast!
Hey, glad your back. Sorry I haven't been updating much recently but I was busy with getting my peeps across the country. Apparently Angie here was able to distract her dad and everyone else so we can sneak on a plane to DC. It was not easy at all. First there's the camera's, then there's the gaurds. Jeez. For Zeus we had to put him in a cage and with enough food and water to last a trip. We were sneaking into the cargo area too, so its not like we're leaving him by himself. How Angie got it past her dad, I'll never know.
When we were in the cargo hull we had to keep quiet until we were in the air. And even then we can't be making too much noise. We sat there for maybe twenty minutes. Jazz rigged Angie's phone so that it can contact our communicators. Which I denied but I have a feeling that she did it anyway. The earpiece buzzed in my pocket. I looked at Jazz and she put on an innocent smile.
I put it in my ear and pressed the button to answer. "What?" I said. Angie responded, "Wow. It works, that is so cool! Any way I just heard the intercom say we're taking off in two minutes. Okay?" I heard another voice in the backround. "Honey, who is that you're talking to?" It must've been her dad. "Just a friend back in DC. We haven't seen each other in a while." I said back, "I swear, if this is some sort of trick......... You don't want to know what I'll do." Angie was silent for a minute. "Why don't you trust me?" She said in a hushed voice. "Call it experience." "Well, you can trust me. I promise you will find a home if it kills me. Besides I owe you one remember?" That might solve my problems. And She does have a point, but I saved Longarm's life too.
Soon after that, the plane took off. It was weird. Anyway we just sat their trying to relax by rearranging luggage. Everyone just leaning back. Megan removing her leather jacket and letting her leathery wings unfold. There were other animal cages on the plane, but only one bird cage. Zeus didn't feel much better in the cargo hull.
We sat there for a while. I felt the plane make it's two stops. After leaving the second stop, my stomach starting to grumble more than usual. We just kinda ate and ran after meeting Angie. I got up and started opening the first suitcase I found. "What are you doing?" Jazz asked, probably out of boredom. "Whats it look like? I'm looking for food. There has to be something around here." I opened them then just moved the clothes around. I wasn't just going to toss them around. Viktor followed my lead and soon so did Megan. Jazz, Magnet, and Sara just sat there. Jazz said, "You can't just dig through someone's stuff!" I gave up on that one and moved on to the next one. "Hey, you want to go hungry for the rest of this ride, or not?" I said over my shoulder. The next one I picked up was a kinda baj suitcase. Can't have anything good, there were no locks on it, so I opened it anyway.
Holy Crap. It's not a suitcase. It's a bomb.

81+1 Heroes Ch. 3: What can you do?
I sat there in shock I still don't believe what I'm hearing. "Yeah, Yeah, Very Funny. Playing tricks on the new girl and all that." There faces didn't change. I looked at all them. Dexter put a hand on my shoulder, "We're not kidding around, Noel." I said nothing for a while. Then, "So...are you guys, like, super heroes?" Everyone was surpressing laughter. "I wish." Grossman said. Dexter said, "We all have powers with different bases of origin. Whether the person was bitten-by-a-radioactive-insect, or found-an-object-of-mystic-properties, or if you were just plain born with it. They all find there way here at some point in there lives." I asked, "Why?" He shook his head, "I don't know......yet. But believe me its at the top of my list of research." I decided to ask, "So, what is it that you guys can do?" They kinda went in a circle. Kenny says, "I have tel-telle-telika..... I can move stuff with my mind." Surpressing laughter, the black haired, olive green skined cheerleader Jessabelle says, "I can, like, summon skeletons, and talk to spirits, and stuff. I'm a blast at Halloween parties." "Pass." Mira said when I looked at her. She had short black hair, which now covered her eyes. "Oh, Come on Mira. You can't be ashamed of your powers. Thats what makes you one of us." Jessie says incouragingly. She sighed and crossed her arms. "I can create light beams." I bit my lip to keep from laughing. A cheerleader having dead powers and an emo having light powers. That's Hilarious!
It was Grossman's turn. He was fiddling with the end of his puke green shirt. "I have...uh....some of the more gross powers. I can create a knock-out gas, lets leave it at that." Kenny was dieing of laughter. I just turned to Dexter. I wanted to get off of that subject. "And you?" I said. He sighed, "I'm just a super nerd." Jess said, "Oh, don't be modest! He's the Smartest kid in the World! He's just like--"
"Jessie! Please, don't say that joke." Dexter pleaded. She said it anyway, "Dexter's Labrotory!" She said. And everyone started laughing. Dexter just rubbed his forehead with his finger and thumb. He was still smiling though. I was laughing too. I finished the day and went home.
The phone was ringing when I walked in the door. It was mom. "Hey, Honey. I'm going to be home late tonight. There's a box of little pizza bagels you can have for dinner. How was your first day of the eighth grade?" You mean other than the fact that I'm an outsider in an apartment building of outsiders? "It was great."

The Fallen part 10: Nicole's Secret
I was packing the last of my things into an old backpack I found in a 'Give away Basket'. I had the clothes Mrs. Miller bought at the store, and food I snuck out of the pantry. A week's supply of bread, lunch meat, and fruit. Two weeks if I ration it just right. I zipped it up, and slung it over my shoulder. Wincing out of pain. I haven't healed fully just yet. Give it a week I'll be OK by then. The Millers wrapped up the wounds and got the spike out of my shoulder. I wish I could've repaid them. I'll wright a note when I get downstairs. They have computer paper and pens. I took a deep breath and walked out of the room and continued downstairs.
I was about to get what I needed to write with but I heard a voice from the couch. "Going Somewhere?" I spun around to see Nicole in her pajamas, sitting on the couch. She just turned the lamp on, letting light spill into the room. I said, startled, "Just, going for a walk." She got up and walked over to me with her arms folded. "Are You?" I looked into her eyes. I wanted to stay here, in this home. This has been more of a home than anything I've slept in. "Look." I said, being very serious. "You and your family have been great, but I can't stay here. You almost died today. And since your not kicking me out of your home, I'm kicking myself out." I turned and was about to walk out when Nicole put a death grip on my arm. I turned to her. She said, "You're not going anywhere. Not until I'm done with you." I didn't want to say this, but if she's going to be safe then I'm going to have to break her. "But I'm done with you." "No your not." She said before I could get anything else out.
"Listen," she said. "I'm not going to let you go because...." She drifted off. She let go of her death grip. Then she traded it with a bear hug. Then she whispered very softly, "...because your just like me." She looked at me with tearing eyes and I looked back at her. Then she stepped back and started taking off her loose brown shirt, normally I would be turning red. But I was a little taken aback at the moment. She turned to show me her back and I saw them.
She had wings, tucked in over her sports bra. They were big, brown, and seemed to turn gold in the light. She let them stretch out slightly. She was like me. She had wings.
She turned to me, and said, "I was born with them just like you."

81+1 Heroes Ch. 2: First Day Starts Now
I got up and got ready for school. Have you ever had to walk to school before? Well, if you haven't, let me say it SUCKS! Anyway, When I got there I got lost. I couldn't find my homeroom, and when I was wandering the hallways, looking lost or even tried to ask for a teacher's help, they ignored me. What is with these people? I thought country folk here were supposed to be nice. The first bell rung and the hallways cleared out quick. A group of girls knocked down the books I was carrying. Great, there's just no escaping the mean girls is there?
After getting my stuff up, a boy came up to me. He was two inches shorter than me, way scrawny, had rusty red hair, and regular looking glasses that almost seemed to shield his eyes. Not like shades, but different. He said, "Hello. I'm sorry we didn't get to truly meet yesterday. I'm Dexter. You need help getting to class?" I nodded and handed him the paper. "Uh, Yeah. I'm Noel. It says 147, but its not where I thought it would be." He nodded. "Yeah, whoever numbered the rooms in this school must've been drunk or something." He said while do an impression of someone getting drunk. I laughed a little and he continued, "Anyway, It looks like you and I have 1st period together." I said, "Oh, Cool." Then we walked together to our science class.
The teachers are jerks here. First period, a quiz. Not like one of those 'Lets-Get-To-Know-You' Quiz, but an actual quiz. And I swear we are not supposed to know this stuff till college. I'm really good with science so that's saying something. Second period wasn't much better. I had lunch next. The rectangular tables were set up in four long rows. I saw Dexter so I sat next to him. The table had a bunch of kids at it. And Everyone not sitting at it seemed to be sneaking glances and whispering. The table itself, just seemed regular, kids talking and horsing around. Dexter was reading a book and eating his lunch. I sat with him. "Hey." I said. He looked up from his book "Oh, Hey. How's the first day treating you?" I shook my head. "I think they're setting me up to fail." He nodded. "That's what they all say." After that the other kids started to notice me. Everyone started introducing themselves.
I noticed that the table I sat at was a strange crowd. It compossed of a little bit of every social group in a school. There was a peppy cheerleader Jessabelle, a baskeball jock Kenny, an emo girl Mira (I can see the scars on her arm), an egg head smartie (I'm sorry but Dexter turned in that pop quiz almost as soon as he got it), a really big guy (which they called him by his last name) Grossman, and well, the new girl: me.
Kenny leaned over the table and he asked. "So, What can you do?" I was a little confused, "What?" He chuckled a little, "Y'know.....skills, natural abilities, something that makes you different from everyone else...." All eyes were on me, and they were serious. I thought he was being gross and I was about to slap him, but he was serious. "I don't know what..." "Powers." He interrupted. "What are your powers? Everyone who lives at our building has a power or ability. It's no secret. Its why the most of the Teachers hate us." I looked around the table. I thought at some point someone was going to say, "Not!" and we would all laugh. But no one did. Dexter says, "You didn't know?"

81+1 Heroes Ch. 1: Moving
A moving truck is going down Route 66. Just plains on each side of the road. God I hate the open country. No offense to those people but I am a city girl and I hate anything country, including the music. Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Noel Bakersfield. If your confused on this story, don't be. Everything will be explained. Just not now.
We were on our way to.....uh......well I'm not sure. "Mom. What city are we going to?" She blinked a couple of times, glanced at me, then answered. "Branson, Missouri; Honey." She said, wiping her eyes. It was just us in the truck. "You mean that one place wih the rides and all that cool stuff?" She sighed. "No, honey. It's a small town, on the other side of the state." "You mean a city that won't even be on a map?" She nodded. I know the radio music was on, the window was down with wind blowing in my face, but I swear I heard her mutter, "That's kind of the point." We rode the rest of the way in silence. After going down what seems like a billion exits, we arrive at a the edge of a town. That's all it was, a town. I saw one grocery store with a name I didn't recognize. A hunting shop, a gas station, a few other little stores. What I realized after a close look is that no two stores were the same. There was a video game store, flower shop, only one metal shop. This is unbelievable. I feel like I'm in Radiator Springs like in that Disney movie.
After going down a road called Western Street, we pulled up to what looks like one of the tallest buildings in the area. It was either a Motel or an apartment building. Take a quick guess. I wasn't complaining though. Not aloud, anyway.
OK I am not exactly Miss Muscles, and although my Mom is a hard working woman, neither is she. But apparently we didn't have to be. The residence of the apartment came out to help. They're really nice, but I still kept an eye on every single one. I noticed that there are a lot of teenagers living here. Yeah there were adults but it was mostly kids. Maybe its just coincidence.
We got done in barely two hours. I don't know how they did it. Still a bunch of boxes to sort and open up, but we were done. Mom couldn't stop thanking the other kids, and neither could I, to be honest. After that we flopped onto the couch. Needless to say but the apartment was small. There was a fairly big living room, the kitchen and dining room seem to merge into one. The bedroom was right across from the bathroom. There was a small closet in my room. Mom said I'll take the bedroom, since she wasn't going to need it that badly anyway. We sold our old couches and bought a couch that unfolds into a bed.
After a few minutes Mom said, "School starts Monday, hon. We still have the weekend to relax before I start my new job." I sighed. "I know Mom." We sat in silence for a minute. "This sucks. I won't be able to see you except on your days off. And even then I still have to go to school at three in the morning till two in the afternoon." I was exaggerating of course, but I have to get up at four or five, and be in my desk by 7:20. Apparently my new school is just down the street from here. I have to walk there. And it lets out at 1:50. Mom sighed and said, "I know, but this could be a new start for us. Especially with what happened with......." She was choking up. I remembered all too well. What HE did. The memory of it all fills me with heart ache. I'm sorry if I talk about it I'll explode. I went to my room to give mom some privacy. I laid down on my bed, not bothering changing my clothes. I just wanted to go to sleep.
