TL&TOHJ~Hope: How I Got My New Name

I met the others at the hangout. The authorities said that everyone goes home early today. I was staring at the sky and at the other buildings around us. Joe Joe snapped me out of my daydream. "Don't you think you were a little quick to pick a fight with him?" "Huh?" I said. "You heard me. He didn't seem to be hurting anyone." I thought about it, and he was right. "He never even looked at anyone, he was scared for himself, scared of me! Oh, I'm such an idiot!" I said. Joe Joe nodded. I looked at him. "Feel free to stop me any time."

"No, no. You're doing great." He laughed. Devlin stepped in. "I think the little punk deserved to be kicked around a little." Candy agreed. "Yeah, so what if he gets a bruise or two?" I snapped. "That's not the point, guys. Whether he was a jerk or not, that doesn't go past the fact that he needed help, and I attacked him. I let my feelings get in the way of my mission. If I'm going to be a Hero, then I can't ignore a cry for help, just because I don't like the guy." They lowered their heads in guilt. I looked at the sky, it was getting cloudy. We better put the tarp over our seats and tables or they're going to get wet. "C'mon guys. Let's just go home." They nodded and helped in shoving everything into one area so we could get the tarp over it. Joe Joe went to his room and the rest of us walked home.

Candy was staying over at my place for tonight. We were in the living room and started eating dinner. We turned on the TV and it was on the News. It was showing footage of me, today and yesterday. I was just about to change the channel, when mom said, "Wait! Don't change it, I want to see it!" I was a little nervous now. "I've seen it before!" "Well I haven't! So stay there!" She scrambled into the room. Even Butch stopped playing with his transformers to see what was so interresting.

They didn't get much. They just know that I'm a girl and I saved twelve people. They're automatcally calling me a hero. They must have been interviewing a bunch of people, cause they showed this one little girl and she said, "Her name is Haley."

I dropped my fork without meaning to and my eyes grew wide. The reporter asked, "Oh, really? How do you know her name?" She clutched her fluffy toy tighter and said, "Because. She saved a wot of pee-pole and she is a Hee-row, and Haley sounds like Hee-row. I think." She added on the end. The reporter was laughing a little. "Well, there you have it folks. Our hero, Haley. Back to you Ted." Mom muted it and said, "Isn't that great? We have our own super hero! Who'd a thunk that a hero would wind up in someplace like Den-Martin?" She then looked at me. "Honey, are you OK? You look like you've seen a ghost." I shook myself out of the shock. "Uh, yeah. I was just surprised for a second." Butch finally peeled his eyes away from the TV. He said, "I feel sorry for her. Having to be stuck with the same name as yours. Ick." I stuck my tongue out at him. He did the same.

OK. Two bullets avoided. One was the parents finding out my secret. The second was the lame name given. I can live with being Haley in both forms.

TL&TOHJ~Hope: Help

I followed the surge along the power line the best I could, but it all lead to the power plant. I lost him there. Darn it! Trying to find him here would be like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Or, in his case, a hay in a needle stack. I have more of a likelihood of getting hurt trying to find him, than to find him and then him hurt me. I had to wait till he shows up again. I flew off to school, they must be searching the school by now for what had happened.

I waited till she was gone. Why was she after me anyway? I didn't do anything, I just remember turning into that monster and before I knew it, I was being tackled by that mystery girl every one's talking about. She did look familiar, though. Who is she?

Doesn't matter. There had to be some people willing to help me. Isn't there a college full of brainiac nerds, on the other side of town? There has to someone there who can help. He zipped around on the power lines, until he found the place.

He went inside through the power cords underground. He stopped when he heard a voice somewhere. He went into the room he heard it from and sat there, in the lights. To guys were talking to a screen. One had glasses, a Hawaiian shirt, and a pony tail. The other was slightly thicker than the other, he had longer hair, and had a beard starting to grow. The man on the screen, I recognize from the news. He was the CEO of the company that owned the school. His name was Albert Wright.

Thicker said, "Really dad, we are working hard here. However with the insufficient parts, and people working at this school, we are lucky we got this far at all." Pony Tail slapped him on the shoulder. "What he means father, is that we don't have enough to work with. The pictures and video feed are blurry, and we can't even get her face in the clear."

The CEO interrupted. "Enough! Brody, you will learn to address me with respect. David, I could not care less whether or not you find who she is, I only want to know how she did it! She has more power than any other man on this Earth, and she's toying around with it! Find her and take her in, or else." He ended the feed. They both shivered. Brandon had to admit, what he said may not be bad to hear, but it was the way he said it. He decided this was the time to reveal himself.

He stepped out of the lights and made himself as human as he can possibly look, being made of electricity. He was tired, he's been running around all day. "Help, me." He collapsed. The startled looked at each other in shock, then they each had the same idea and smiled. "This one could be quite useful to us." David said. Brody responded, "Indeed. It appears we have something sufficient to work with."

TL&TOHJ~Hope: Brandon Keith

The next day at school I was talking to Candy about the mystery guy last night night. She asked, "Do you think it someone here at the school?" I thought about this kid in a school uniform, walking in the hallway, carrying books to his classrooms. Then stressing about the next pop quiz. "Somehow I don't see him doing what we do everyday." Our conversation was interrupted by laughter.

We turned to see Brandon Keith and his groupies picking on Devlin again. Brandon was a jerk to everyone, and nobody likes him. He part of the football team, and he thinks that automatically makes him cool. Him and a bunch of others pick on Devlin because he's one of the biggest kids in school, and he doesn't fight back. It's like trying to prove your a man by hog tying a rubber bull.

What I would give to just break his nose. We started toward them to stick up for Devlin. We stood in between them. "Lay off jerk! You do this every other day! Its time you knock it off!" He mocked me. "Time to knock it off!" Joe stepped in and shoved him away. "You think you're so tough?" He said. "You would last two seconds in a fight with me! So unless you want to end up in a hospital bed, back off!" Brandon and Joe Joe were the same height, but it doesn't take a genius to figure out who would win. They glared at each other for several minutes. Then Brandon laughed a little. "Ahhh. You're all a waste of my time anyway." In Brandon talk that means, "OK. You win. I'm gonna act all macho anyway, even though I'm an insecure loser." We all glared at him as him and his groupies left.

We turned to Dev. "You OK Devlin?" Candy asked. He nodded, his hair was covering his eyes. "Yeah. Brandon's teasings are getting more aggressive than usual." Joe Joe put a hand on his shoulder. "Listen man. I'm not one for adults to get involved, but you seriously need to get someone to do something about this. If its this serious they have to do something." He shook his head. "They are going to accomplish nothing. They don't care, as long as they get their next paycheck." I said, "That's not true, Dev." He sighed. "Whatever, you can tell them if you want. I, on the other hand, can deal with it." He walked off to his next class. I sighed. "What is it with you guys? Its like you all got something to prove to everybody." Joe Joe said, "Hey, don't look at me. Its a pride thing, you wouldn't understand." "Please, enlighten us." I said. Candy agreed. "If he goes to the teachers then he'll feel like a tattletale. I don't blame him, if I went to the teachers half the time when I actually needed to, I'd feel like a prick." I thought about this, I know a lot of people like that.

My thoughts were interrupted by a cry in pain. I looked down the hall to see Brandon Keith doubled over in pain. About time, if someone punched him in the gut then he should get a prize. However, everyone around him didn't looked triumphant, or full of rage, they looked worried. Like he was going to puke or something.

Did I see.....no it was probably just my eyes playing--there it is again! There is electricity dancing all over him! With one last scream he sent a shock wave of energy around him. It sent the closest people flying and it knocked everyone else over. The old Brandon Keith was replaced by something that is made purely of electricity. His clothes are in tatters, I'm surprised that he even has his clothes at all. I looked at the others. "Get the kids out of the school!" They nodded and started helping people. I backed myself into the janitor's closet and clicked my bracelet.

After I was in my Hero form I flew out to give out a beat down. I floated in the middle of the hallway. I said, "Let's take this outside, OK?" I tackled him and flew both of us through the front door. He was on his back and scrambling to get away. "Get back! Get Back!" he said in a rather different voice. He swung at they air with his arm, in my direction. That sent a wave of energy at me and smacked me upside the head. Ow.

I was smiling on the inside, this was all the excuse I needed to kick him around for a change. I grabbed him by the scruff of his neck and pulled him in the air. I cocked my fist back to let him have it. He dissipated through my fingers and went into the nearest telephone pole. I can see the surge of energy going through the lines.

Crud! He's getting away!

TL&TOHJ~Hope: A New Enemy

I was flying after this impish bat winged freak, at 10:00 o' clock at night! Why can't these guys just sleep like regular people? Do they know I had hit curfew an hour ago? I was sleeping when Link woke me up about a bank robbery. I was about to get to this guy when something fly up and grabbed him, by his neck. I was shocked to, so I stopped and watched what happened.

This guy was big. He had yellow eyes, I saw fangs sticking from his mouth, his white hair went to his shoulders. He was wearing an assortment of black clothes with silver linings. He had a black vest, T-shirt, jeans that were tucked into his boots, which could crush the skull of elephant if he wanted to. He throttled the creature and screamed at it. "You don't deserve this power! Not if your going to waste it by stealing from petty stores!" I floated a little closer. "Uh, Excuse me?" He turned to me, and I suddenly felt an ice pick run down my spine. I continued, "I think you punished him enough. Now if I could just take him and get him to the police, that would be great." I tried to slowly take the thing away, but then the new guy kicked me a couple yards back. "Hey!" I yelled in reaction. I froze when I saw what was happening.

The thing was struggling, but I saw surges of electricity going through the new guys arms and into his body. He seemed to be enjoying every second of it. The creature started losing some of his features. Before long he looked like a regular, half naked crook. He dropped him and I flew in to catch him. I heard the mystery man say, "Not as satisfying as I would have hoped. But none the less tasteful." I looked at the criminal, he was passed out, I set him down on the ground and flew back up to the man in black.

I said, "OK. Talk." He grinned. "In due time, Hero. All you need to know is there is a new revolution on the horizon. You can either join me, or be destroyed. Your choice. Until then, adios." He started to fly off. I grabbed his shoulder. "I want answers, mister." He flipped me over his shoulder and kicked me into the street below.

I opened my eyes to see Mr. Tall, Dark and Scary standing over the me shaped hole I was in. He said, "Stay out of my way, if you know what's good for you!" With that he flew off. I couldn't follow him. I got up and out of the crater I was in. I watched as he disappeared into the night sky. Who was that? How did he do that? And--Ow--where did he get that power? He reminds me of someone, I can't remember who, but......

I got to tell the others about this. If someone like that is flying around then I need all the help I can get. Maybe Devlin can help in finding out a way to beat him, or maybe find out who he is.

Greendale: Meet the gang

Cowboys were the first organized crime group in recorded American History. They could usually be identified by their red bandannas they wore. However, like an animal in the wild, there is always something hunting the Cowboys. The law isn't enough anymore, never has been. The cowboys do have something hunting them. The people they hurt, the people that survive their attacks, are hunting them. Like predators over prey, in the end, it is futile.

My name is Charlie, and as I lay back on my cot I go back to that night my childhood ended. The fires all over town, the yipping cowboys as they rode out of town.

They came right in to show that this was their territory. We were peaceful people, nothing ever happened in this town of ours, there were no criminals here. They killed everyone, the only reason they didn't kill us was because I was playing in a pasture with my sister and horsing around with my buddies. We came back because we saw the smoke towering over the land. We went over there and saw the last of the bandits running out of the town. There was a body in the road, ounce we examined it we saw the red bandanna on him. There was nothing we could do except get the horses and wait for the fires to die. Ounce they did, we went in and got whatever we could find, we left town as well. We vowed revenge on those hell riders. We would take on the name of our town so that it may never be forgotten. Greendale. May it burn within every history book, I want the world to know, Who we are. We look like children, but we bring HELL to those who so much as dare to tie that red bandanna.

I woke with a start, to only realize that I was in the middle of a valley, as always. I looked over to Bell. I reckon she's bout twelve. I'd camp out in Hell if it meant keep her out of harms way. She's good with horses, and sortta good with a gun. I looked at the rest of our little group.

Doc, his dad was a blacksmith, his mom was a teacher. He was the result. He was bout fouteen. He's all smart and that stuff. He made his own gun. It looked like a shotgun, with a long muzzle, it used revolver bullets. It had on of those telescopes welded on the top. He's our triumph card in any poker game, by the time the one guy figures out where he is being shot at from, the devil is tapping his shoulder and shaking his hand to welcome him.

Butch, the only kid in the country who can kill a Grizzly with his bare hands. He was bout sixteen; I am too. He always had that lucky huntin knife of his. He was our strong offensive, and our usual intimidater. He was like a brother to me.

Antonio, the only mexican kid in the group. I don't reckon he had a family before the cowboys came in. He was a thief, but he was our best friend. Greendale was his home, and its flames struck him as deep as rest of us. He's bout thirteen. I looked around. The sun was peaking just above the horizon.

I grabbed my gun. Time to get some breakfast. Maybe if I'm lucky, I'll find another set of rattle snake eggs. Those were the best ounce you roasted them just right.

Rising Ch. 8: Pierce

It was raining today. I couldn't fly in this. Plus there was the chance I would get struck by lightening. I asked Mr. Millers if I could borrow his car. I had to convince him that I would fill it up before I got back.

I just arrived to Jean's current Hotel when I saw someone very familiar on the sidewalk. He was standing there as if waiting for something. I stopped the car and stepped out. I called out, "Hey! Don't I know you from somewhere?" He nodded. I realized he was the mystery dude who I helped out in saving Jean.

I turned the car off and walked toward him. I asked, "Why did you run after saving Jean Parker? You could have gotten some serious action bud." He sneered at me. "That was a minor setback. If those robbers didn't show up you would have been dead already." I looked at him, a little puzzled. "By whose hands?" I asked. He glared at me. Then answered, "MINE!!" He grew spikes from his arms and lunged at me.

As I'm dodging his blows, I try to do the natural thing and get a conversation going. "Don't I at least get a--whoa!--a trial? Or at least a name?" He screamed at me. "The name's Pierce! And you killed my father! You killed him before I even got to meet him!" Aw crap.

"Your father--wouldn't happen to be Spyker,--would he?" He paused for breath. "Yes!" He lunged again. I dodged and ripped off my rain coat. I was going to get soaked, but I need to do the essential thing here and survive. I spread out my wings and took to the skies. Not too high though, its still storming out here. I kicked and punched from the air, which had little effect. I said this while we were fighting, "If you wanted to kill me, then why did you help me at the restaurant?" He answered back between grunts. "I want you dead! Not anyone else! Now that the decoy is out of the way, I can afford to strike you!" Oh. I guess Nicole keeps more away than the feelings of loneliness, huh?

He pulled out a spike from his arm. It was at least six feet long. He used it to pull a vault into the air and right towards me. This left him vulnerable. I spun in the air and connected my foot with his face. He went flying and hit a parked car on the other side of the street. I floated down, and walked over to him. He wasn't dead. Good.

I killed his dad? How does that work? I never thought of Spyker as a normal person. I never met the real him. In the end he made his choice, it was either me or him. I chose him. It never occurred to me that he could have had a family. It makes you wonder, who else have I affected? How many people are connected to my actions?

Rising Ch. 7: I Try to Explain Things

I went to Nicole's house and knocked on the door. I waited for a while, I never actually waited this long before. Nicole usually rips the door off its hinges to see if its me....OK that was an exaggeration, but you get what I mean.

Mrs. Miller opened the door. I smiled and waved. "Hey Mrs. Miller. Is Nicole here?" That was a stupid question. Of Course she's here, I live across the street. I can see her shadow against the curtains on her bedroom window. She said, "Sorry, she's not here right now." I nodded. "Uh, can you tell her that I just wanted to talk to her." She smiled and nodded. "Of Course, Honey." I said, "Thanks." and left. I was across the street, when I turned and looked back at the house. I saw her bedroom curtains just close suddenly. I'll explain it to her tommorrow.

I caught up with her in the hallway, before first period. "Nicole! Wait up!" I ran in front of her so she had to talk to me. She was walking away with her friends. "Hey, would you listen to me for ten minutes?" She looked into my eyes, which is the most she's done in a while. "What?" She said bitterly. I said, "Listen, Jean and I are not a couple. I went over to her house last night and she explained it to me." She tried to walk off again. "Oh that's so great for you!" She said to me. I stepped in front of her. "Hey! I'm not done. Jean and I are just helping each other become more popular to the public. Which means we are just friends, that's it! We can still date." She looked at me with disgust and shoved me out of her way. That went so much better in my head.

One of her friends came up to me. I think her name is Katie. "You don't get it, do you?" I spun around to her. She was one of Nicole's closest friends. "Please, enlighten me. I am so lost." She sighed. "She really likes you, and when she sees you with someone like Jean Parker, then that makes her feel like she's not enough for you." I was a little takken aback. "Are you kidding me? My doctor perscribed me a healthy dosage of Nicole every day. I can't live without her!"

She literally stuck her nose up and started to walk off. She said, "That's not what she thinks."

Maybe its better if I just stopped hanging out with Jean. She's a cool person and all, but she ain't no Nicole.

81+1 Heroes Ch. 38: The Big Bad Wolf

We sat down in a little circle on the floor in the work out area. The floor was soft and almost plush, so we could be a little comfortable. I was sitting across from Dexter, Alice across from Red. Red was holding Dexter's hand tightly, the poor baby was scared. Alice said, "OK. Everyone just concentrate hard. I'll do the rest." Dexter turned to his little sister and whispered, "Did you get that?" She nodded. She had her hood up, I couldn't see her under there. We all closed our eyes, and then I felt lighter than air.

I reopened my eyes to find that Dexter, Alice and I are in the woods. These woods were dark, and eerie. Something tells me that this isn't the cute little Hundred Acre Wood, I was hoping for. I looked around, "Where's Red?" I asked. Alice and Dex lokked around too. "She is probably somewhere deep within her own mind." Alice answered. "Her mind is more, guarded than others. I believe we are in one of her memories." I looked in the distance. I saw a little girl in a red jacket four sizes too big. I said, "Hey, is that her, over there?" Before I knew it I was dragged behind a tree so fast it made my head spin. Alice was hiding behind one of the other trees. Dexter was behind the same one as me. He whispered very softly. "We cannot be seen by her in a memory. When we leave, she will remember the changes we make here. That will eventually ravage the mind. We would be making things worse than they already are." "Oh." I whispered. I could hear little red, calling out to nobody. "Hello? Is anybody there? Could somebody help me? Mommy?" I wanted to run out and help her so badly, but I had to refrain from doing so.

After she left the area, I poked my head out and looked around. She was gone. Alice revealed herself and motioned for us to come over here. She pointed to the little rabbit hole under the tree she was hiding in. She whispered, "This is the way out, I can sense her mind through here. But we must be careful, the wolf must be here as well." I nodded. They told me about what happened, the wolf was what almost killed me. Now that we are in the owner's head, I'm not sure on what else it can do.

We dove into the rabbit hole and I found myself in more woods. Except this time, we were in a clearing. There was dirt path leading to a tiny cottage. Looked around, I saw Alice and Dexter come up beside me. Alice said, "Here we are, the inside of her mind." I said, "OK. So where's-"

I heard a scream. I spun around to see Red running down the path right at us. Her jacket was flapping everywhere. There was pure horror in her eyes. She ignored us completely and ran to the house. She jerked on the door, and banged on it with her fist. It would not open. I looked at what she was running from. And I saw the wolf. It was moving like an ocean, and its eye was shining at us. When it saw me the eye turned red. You!, It yelled. It swatted me against a tree. The wind was knocked out of me. I was huffing and coughing. Red turned and saw what happened. She suddenly got angry. She ripped her hood off of her head, revealing her face. She grabbed the air next to her, and a sword came to be. She yelled at the creature. "Don't you dare touch her!" The monster looked at Red, and grinned wickedly. It said, ahhhhh. Hahahahaha. Getting a sudden burst of courage, Red? I guess I've failed in teaching you the first rule of life. He started to move toward her. Always, fear the Big Bad Wolf! Dexter stepped in its way. He yelled "Back off, Fido!" The thing smacked him too. I saw this and I suddenly got angry.

"Hey!" I yelled. It looked at me. I stuck my hand out to it, and a ball of light formed. It didn't shoot out or anything, but it shined very brightly. The creature went away from it. Wha? What are you doing? I am the bringer of justice of this world! I am the saviour! You dare use your, so called, purest heart, against me? I held it there and stepped closer.

I was practically standing over it, then Red came above me and stabbed her sword into the wolf and into the ground. It screeched in pain and we woke up.

I looked around, everyone was out of breath. Red sounded like she was choking. A black mist poured out of her mouth and nose, and it gathered in the air above us. The wolf formed right before our eyes. He lunged at me, and stopped just short of me. Something was pulling him back. He shrunk back into the doorway leading out. He clawed the floor and howled.

Noooooooooooooooooooo.

He shrunk into a box, held by a girl with a bandage wrapped around her head. When the monster was gone she closed the box. She said, "What's going on?" I looked at Dexter. I asked, "Did Pandora just save us?"

The Life and Times of Haley Jones~Hope: Devlin

I'm now at the usual hangout. I just got there, changed back into me, and I just sat down. Candy asked, "I went to your place, but you weren't there. Your parents said you just left, so I figured you'd be here." Devlin asked, "So, how did it go?" I said, "I'm not sure I'm up for this. I can't handle lying to my parents. Plus I think I gave them and Butch a whole new way to embarrass me." Joe Joe snickered. "What did you say?" He asked. I sighed. "I told them I couldn't get to sleep last night and I fell asleep in the bathroom." Joey was dieing now. Devlin suppressed a smile. Candy was giggling a little.

Oh, before I forget, Butch is my little brother. He turned seven last month. He is the most annoying little twerp there is! He gets away with murder, that kid. He goes through all my stuff and sprawls out all my underwear all over the house, just to bug me. What do the parents say? "Oh, he hardly knows any better. He's only playing."

"Alright, Alright! That's enough guys." I said. "There's more. I think I just encountered my first super villain." Joe Joe whistled to show he was impressed. "Haley the Hero, first day on the job and already picking fights with the biggest baddest bad guys." "I'm serious guys! He looked like he was made by Jurassic Park." Devlin was thinking, "These light's effects seem to be random. It looks like you got your powers by chance." I shrugged. "Whatever. As long as I got the powers. I really like this whole hero thing, but I need to start finishing up the battles faster." I pulled out my school stuff out of my back pack. "Can you guys help me here?" They all agreed and we got the worksheet done in no time.

Later that night, Devlin went home. His parents were working late tonight. He went to his bathroom and looked in the mirror. He looked down at his watch and started grinning. Little did Haley know that he knew very well of those lights that scattered across the city. He caught a nasty dose of the black one. He clicked his watch, and and a black ooze, covered his entire body, and he remained completely calm.

Ounce it covered him the ooze dissipated. It revealed a new power in Den-Martin. The figure glared at his reflection with his now yellow eyes. He loved this feeling of power, surging through his veins. No one will tease him, or make fun of him any more. Mr. Nice guy is long gone, it's time he lived up to his name's meaning: Fierce.

Just, not yet. He had to be patient, build up his power, before he made his move. Ounce he takes Haley's bracelet, and combine its power with his: He would be the new ruler of this pathetic planet. He would finally get the respect he so wretchedly deserves. Why waist time saving people who are going to hate you for the way you are, when you can slaughter them all?

TL&TOHJ~Hope: My fight with the Jurrasic Era

After school I start walking to the school bus. I was talking to Candy. "I am going to get a call home today, saying I arrived at the end of first period. How am I going to explain that to my parents? I never skipped out. I never lied, if I could help it. What am I going to say?"

She never got the chance to answer. I felt Link vibrate in my pocket. I took out the earpiece and listened. "Level eight. Robbery. Unknown suspect. Vickson Avenue." Again? I looked at Candy. She smiled, "I'll see you at your place." I nodded. I ran back inside into the girl's bathroom, and into a stall. I clicked my bracelet and turned into the now recurring hero. I flew out the window it had and flew over to stop the robbery, in the same bank, on the same day!

I landed down to the ground in front of it. It was different this time. The doors were broken. I entered. If this is what I think it is, then I could be in some serious trouble. I looked around, to looked above the counter to see a scared woman. "Don't eat me! Please!" She cried, tears running down her face. I floated over the counter. I said, "Take it easy, I'm not here to hurt you. Now tell me what happened." She was sucking in breathes every ten seconds. "He came in here, after the police left. He-he-he killed the guards, and killed everyone that got in his way. He was a monster! The bullets, they bounced off-they bounced off! He keeps changing shape!" I calmed her down a bit. "Shhh. Shhh. Its OK. Just stay here and call the police, OK?" She nodded, like, a million times.

I flew over the counter and continued to walk to the safe. I saw a grown man in some ripped up clothes. He was stuffing money into these big bags. I folded my arms, "How many times do I have to save this bank today?" The guy jerked around. He was cover in scales, big ones. I said, "Who are you? And who did you get to do your face? They must be great with monster make up." He growled. "The name's Rex. I'm giving you one chance to get out of here little girl." He turned back and started stuffing money.

I put my hands on my hips. "Excuse me? You are telling me, to get out of here? You got a lot of nerve, mister." He stopped. He quickly turned and his head turned into the Triceratops exhibit at the Museum. I sidestepped out of the way. He ran his head right into the wall and got his horns stuck. "Wow." I said. "You're new to this, aren't you?" He ripped his head from the wall and it changed back to what it was. "Don't worry, I'm new too. But you are the perfect dummy to start off my carrier of kicking bad guy butt." He glared at me and dropped the money bags. Plates sprouted from his back, and a spiked tail spouted too, like a Stegosaurus. He swung his tail and hit me.

I was sent flying across the room. My body skipped across the floor and hit the building on the other side of the street. Ow.

I struggled to get up. I looked around and saw that the news stations were out and recording everything. I flew back in to keep from being seen clearly. Rex was walking out of the safe area with the money. He saw me coming and morphed his head again, except that this time it was a T-Rex head. He opened his mouth to eat me, but I held him at the lips of his mouth to keep him from getting any closer. We stood there for a minute, struggling with each other.

I sidestepped and let him fall forward. All the while saying, "Sorry, Barney. No lunch for you." He morphed his head back, and looked back at me. He growled, stood up, and willed two wings to come out of his back. They were, like, pterodactyl wings or something. He gripped the bags tightly and ran towards the exit.

"Oh, no you don't." I said, as I grabbed his ankle when he was taking off. I slammed him down to the pavement and stomped both feet down on his back. He cried out in pain and passed out. His wings folded into him and dissappeared. I looked around and noticed that policemen were getting over their surprise. I said, "Uh, I guess you can call this Species of Criminal Extinct! He's all yours!" I flew off to home. I am going to kill Joe for suggesting the witty banter. I am not that creative, or funny.

I have a different monster(s) to deal with when I get there.

TL&TOHJ~Hope: Rex

On one of the streets going downtown, a young man is walking down the street. He's been feeling, sick. Ever since he saw that black ball hit him, he's been feeling strange.

What was that black ball? It hit me and I was knocked out. I wasn't mugged, but what hit me, and why was that ball gone when I woke up? Maybe its just some kid that hit me and got scared. He should be, with someone like Rex Smithson running around he should be inside hiddin behind his mother. He snickered at the thought and at what would happen if he ever saw that kid again. Not that he actually saw him.

Then he felt like something punched him in the gut. He doubled over in pain. He moaned, and people just walked by him and either eyeballed him or ignored him completely. This pain endured for ten minutes. He screamed, "What's HAPPENING?!!??" He was sprawled out on the ground. He looked at his hands, were those scales? He pulled back his sleeve, MORE SCALES!

He got up, trying to run. He was stumbling and scaring the other people. "Please, please......help. I need.....help.......Doctor. I need a Doctor! Somebody, help!" Everyone just tried to avoid him. A policeman stopped his car and pointed his gun at him. Rex stopped and turned to the officer. "Freeze! Put your hands where I can see them!" He didn't want to get shot, so he put up his hands. When the policemen saw the claws that replaced the fingers, they thought they were knives. "Sir! Put the knives down! Now! Or we will shoot!" He looked at his hands. "I'm not holding anything! Please! I need help!" He stumbled towards the Officers. They got scared and opened fire.

Scared, he swatted the cop into the air and into the windshield of another car. He ran into an alley, and soon ran into a dead end. The other cop was on his tail. He pointed the gun at Rex. He said, "Bye bye freak." Rex felt his head morph, the cop was paralyzed with fear. With the head, resembling that of a T-Rex, he bit down on the Officer, and shook him around like a rag doll. He threw him out of his mouth and into a wall. His head morphed back to what it use to be.

He was covered in scales now. Those bullets didn't do anything to him. He smiled, he can do anything he wanted now! He would show everyone just who is the biggest baddest, Rex in this town. "Hmm." He said to himself. "Where is a good way to express my new found power?" He walked out and saw an ATM across the street. This gave him an idea. Don't steal the ATM, but steal money from one of the local banks, now that would be interesting. Who's to stop him? He can do what ever he wants now, and he could use the money......somewhere.

He grinned with his new, rather large teeth. Look out, Den-Martin, there is a new Predator in town, and his name is Rex!

TL&TOHJ~Hope: My First Day of Problems

Devlin was right. If those lights did hit other people, the city could be in some serious trouble. I need to find the other lights, or their owners. Maybe we can become a super hero group! Like the Justice Friends, or The Hero Buddies. Meh, the name needs work, and speaking of which, if I'm a super hero now what name am I going to have? What are people going to call me? Lord knows if I leave it to the media, I'll become Super Sally Girl, or maybe even worse. I shuddered at the possibilities.

I was at my locker, and my Link buzzed. Oh come on! Not even first period yet! Oh, that's what Paul calls it. Link. I don't know why. I picked up Link and put the piece to my ear. It buzzed, "Level six Threat detected. Bank robbery. In progress. Hostage situation. Vickson Avenue." Wow. Paul said that it puts a threat level on the situation. Depending on how many people are in danger, it will scale it from one to ten. If it's a four or below, than it won't even buzz. Awesome huh?

I went to the girl's bathroom and changed into the "Not-Yet-Named-Hero", and flew out the window they had in there. I got to the bank and dropped down to the building over. Lets see, police officers have yet to be here. OK. This'll be simple. I dropped down and walked in.

It was quiet. It looks like they took out the security cameras. I saw the people tied up and gagged. They were gesturing something, they wanted me to get out. I put my finger to my lips, and winked. I floated to the ceiling, they came strolling in. They were wearing Halloween masks. The leader apparently was talking, "That safe is going to be tough to crack. You get to choose what hostages we get to take. Don't worry about the police, we called them already. We see even one boy in blue, we kill them all here." The second guy laughed, "Yeah, that would be a real shame, wouldn't it?" He said this while gesturing to some of the women in front of the desk. I got mad at that point. I whistled, making them look up. I slammed my feet down on leader and punched the other one in the face. That sent him flying. I flew to the back and encountereed seven other guys surrounding the safe. They were so easy. I was holding back a bit, I don't want to end up killing anybody.

After I was done, I went back to the main room, and ripped the ropes off of three people. I looked at the clock. Crap! I'm late! How was that fifty minutes?

I said, "Look, call the police, tell them its safe now. Those guys are not going to wake up any time soon." They smiled nervously. I guess they're a bit shaken. I flew out the door and went in through the same window I left through. I went into the stall and clicked my bracelet. I ran to first period, just in time for the bell to ring, for class to end. The teacher there said, "In case you're confused, Miss Jones, Your late. Here is the assignment you missed. You have until tommorow to finish it." I took the paper. "I don't have you tommorrow." "Stop by inbetween classes. I would recommend a watch, as soon as you can get it, Miss Jones." The class was snickering as they left. I should have thought about school when I agreed to being a secret super hero.

At least its in November, when the school year is close to being half way over.

TL&TOHJ~Hope: Telling Your Friends

So there you go. That's how I got the powers and the gear to be a superhero. Here's the hardest part, sharing the secret with your best friends. A week later I had the little device it was a hard drive that was the size of three pens glued together. It had an earpiece that can be connected and removed from it. Paul is the best. I was a little late because of a gang trying to kill some police officers. Those jerks!

I landed on the rooftop. They seemed a little busy, so they didn't notice me. I changed back and walked up. "Hey, guys. What's up?" Joe Joe said, "What's up? What's UP?! What is up is that there is an unidentified flying object that everyone in this city is talking about! We were discussing it, before you came up." Candy says, "Do you think its aliens? They have the worst fashion sense evah! Those jumpsuits, are a never! Some of them don't even wear anything! Like, ew!" I tried to roll my eyes, but I was too busy laughing. Devlin said, "There is no such thing as aliens. That is only folklore."

I interrupted them. "Hey, guys! What if I said that I knew what this thing was?" They all looked at me. Joey said, "Well, out with it woman!" I stuck my tongue out at him. I clicked my bracelet, and I turned to my Hero self.

They all stared. I realized I probably looked a little ridiculous. I was in a purple dress, with a black belt that hugged the belly, rather than waist. I had a tiny jacket/vest that was a lighter shade of purple. I had a pair of black shorts on underneath the skirt. I had black gloves that only covered half of the fingers, and it had a rectangle in it that exposed part of the back of my hands. I had black boots, that went up just shy of the knees. My hair was tied up in a ponytail, which I usually hated, but I kinda look good with it.

Candy was the first to speak, "Oh my God! That is such a cute outfit! Where did you get it?" "I didn't." I said in all honesty. Joe asked, "How did you change so fast?" "That would be because of this." I said, showing my little silver bracelet. I continued, "That's not all." I hovered above the ground. I zipped next to, and behind them and back. I said, "Devlin, punch me." "What?" he said. "I am not punching you." I groaned. "C'mon. You can't hurt me. I promise." He shook his head no. I said, "Fine. I guess you'd break your hand or something." I looked at Joe Joe. I couldn't help but smile like a possum. Its payback time. "Joe Joe. How about an arm wrestling challenge?"

He laughed. "Yeah, right. We played that before, you ready to cry again?" He set up the wooden box that served as our main table. We gripped each other's hand to arm wrestle. I said, "Feel free to use two hands any time." He chuckled. He said, "3, 2, 1. Go!" I just held it there. He was struggling all the way. He started using two hands and got up to get more leverage. I was grinning all the way. He said, "Dev! Help me out here!" He got over there and started to pull on my hand. I wouldn't let it budge. I slammed his arm down, and they literally flipped over the box and landed on their backs on the other side. They weren't hurt, just their pride. Joe Joe was humiliated, so Devlin had to ask, "How did this happen?" They were both getting up. I said, "Remember when that light in the distance started flashing?" They thought about it and agreed. "Well, a bunch of these lights went out all over the city, and one of them hit me. Then, this happened. I seem to be able to change back and forth by clicking my bracelet. Pretty neat, huh?" Joey said sarcastically, "Yeah, Super."

Candy gasped. "Hey! You're the one who's been helping out all those people!" I nodded. "Yup. I even had my brother Paul, make this little trinket. It'll vibrate and let me know that there's an emergency." "Does that mean he knows too?" Devlin asked. "Well, no." I answered. "My parents would have a canipsion if they saw me right now. Paul's head would explode, and I love him too much for that." "Awwwww." Joey said, teasing me again. I ignored him. Devlin stopped everything. "Wait up, guys. Haley, you said that you saw more of these lights flying around town?" I nodded. "Yeah. A lot of them were shining black though. Why?" He sighed and sat back down on his seat. "That means, there could be more than just you, running around the town. If I'm right, then this city is filled with walking super powered time bombs."

The Life and Times of Haley Jones (TL&TOHJ)~Hope: My Older Brother Paul

So there you go, That's how I got the powers, but to be a superhero, that's a little harder. How do I know what is happening, right when it happens? I had another brother who is in a special school on the other side of town. I don't mean "Special" special, I mean really frickin smart special. The school he goes to works differently from other schools, like the students grade each other on projects for one thing. Anyway, I flew over there after school and Paul was surprised.

"Hey, kiddo! I haven't seen you in forever!" I gave him a hug. Paul was tall and scrawny. Almost lanky in a way. He had short, shaggy light brown hair, and always had a collared shirt on him. I probably embarrassed him in front of his entire class. He turned to the others. "Take five, guys. This will only be a moment." We walked out of the classroom. "So they didn't have school today or what?" I gasped without meaning to. I forgot, it took an hour to get over here, more than that if the traffic was bad. My school let out at 2:00, and its now 2:37. The only reason I didn't arrive sooner was because I tied up a gang mugging a poor man. "Uh, the traffic wasn't at all that bad today." He nodded. "Uh huh. So are Mom and Dad here too?" "Uh, no." He gave me a puzzling look. "Then how..." "Candy's Dad dropped me off." "I see." He's not buying it. He was always way too smart, even for my own good.

"Uh, I need a favor." He arched an eyebrow. "What is it?" "Well, I had a bet with a friend. You see, we, uh, were having a discussion on superheroes, and we were arguing that a device could or could not let you know if there's danger or not. Like if there's a crime happening right now, it would let you know right away." He thought about it. "You mean, kind of like a Bat-Super Computer-Pager or something?" "Yeah." He thought about it. "It....could be possible. You would have to have the correct police scanner and computer. But yeah, it could be done."

"Could you make it?" "What?" "Can you build it?" "Why?" "I thought it would be a good science fair project." He looked at me with that puzzled look he has. Then something dawned on him. "Hey, that would be a great project for the gang. The headmaster would be impressed if we could build something like that." He had that mischievous smile he always had. "Plus, we would plow the Wright Brother's team right into the ground!"

David and Brody, the Wright brothers. Everybody hated them, even their own classmates. They were smart, but they could never out smart Paul. The CEO that owns this school is the father of David and the step father of Brody. Even I know that they sabotage most of the other kids projects, cause there team, as well as the both of them, don't have imaginations of their own. They ruined a lot of people's chances of graduating from here. The only way they couldn't ruin you is if they didn't know what you were working on, and that's hard, since they're are few areas they are restricted from entering.

"OK." He said, "It'll be tough, but I'll do it." I tackled him with a hug. "You are the greatest brother in the world!" "I know." he said in that deep silly voice he always uses.

81+1 Heroes Ch. 37: Mira Talk

I was working in the lab. So much was going through my head right now. I stopped for a second and rubbed my eyes. I wasn't tired, I was wondering what I really should be doing. Mira came up behind me. "Its her again, isn't it?" I spun around to her. "What are you implying, Mira?" She sighed. "Don't act like you don't know, Point-Dexter." I had a million nicknames in this town. "You mean, Noel?" I said, not really looking at her. She leaned her back against the computer terminal, like she always does. She was always the older sister in my life. She said, "You really like her, don't you?" I looked at her. She smiled. "Yeah, you really do like her. Its written all over your face." I hung my head. "Hey, I'm not bagging on you Dex. Why don't you ask her out, or something?" I looked away.

"Why would she be interested in me?" I half muttered. "Are you kidding me? You are wicked smart, you're the freaking Boy Genius! Jimmy Neutron got nothing on you! You've fought monsters! You deal with a raging ten year old girl at least twice a month! You saved Noel's life, for crying out loud! AND, if I may say, you are a muscular little tyke for someone who stays cooped up in his lab all day. The worst thing that could happen is that she could say No." I said nothing. I thought about it. "You see, that's your problem right there." I looked at her, confused. "You think too much, sometimes you need to just shut your head off and do what feels right." Technically it is impossible to shut off your brain, it works day and night to keep bodily functions working. If you shut off your brain, you die; Although I see her point.

"I'll remember that Mira." She nodded and left.

At that time she left and I heard Alice and Noel talking. After they entered they called out after me. "Dex! Dexter! We're ready to go into That Little Red Head of yours!" I chuckled a little, as she stumbled over what she said, trying to get it right. "I get what your saying, Noel. I'll be down there in a second." I finished my report on my latest experiment, saved the report on a file, and went off to find the girls.

Rising Ch. 6: Just Friends

The next day we went to school. I kept on trying to say hi to Nicole in the hallways, but she looked the other way each time. I know she's mad at me, I have too much going on to deal with this. I don't know why, but I gave Jean Parker my Phone number and my phone kept on vibrating through the entire class. I got so many texts its not even funny. Another thing, who was that dude who really saved Jean at the restaurant? He reminded me a lot about Spyker, before he got that upgrade. Could he be related to him, somehow?

The final bell rung, I need to get to Nicole. I ran to her, as I saw her go out the door, instead of waiting for me by the door. I called out to her, "Nicole!" She only quickened her pace. I finally caught up to her and put a hand on her shoulder. She didn't turn around, but at least she stopped walking. I said, "Nicole, what's up? I've been trying to talk to you all day, if I didn't know any better I'd say you were..." She cut me off. "Get away from me." I let go, shocked by her reaction. People were looking at us now, but I was ignoring them. "Nickie..." She ran off to her bus, I didn't follow. I sighed. Crap, she thought I was cheating on her, I couldn't blame her. I got another text. Dang it Jean! I ripped the thing out of my pocket, the text said, "R u free tonight?" I thought about this. Yeah, I could get Jean to explain that we're just friends. Not the Couple of the century, as everyone keeps calling us. We are friends, nothing more.

"I'm so glad we can so much more than friends." Jean Parker says as she got a plate of cookies her mom made and sat down on the couch. Her parents were elsewhere, she didn't exactly say where. I said, "Uh, actually Jean, that's what I came over here to talk about." She looked at me puzzling. I took a deep breath. "Listen, you're a good person and all, and anybody would love to have you as a girlfriend, but I already have one, and she is not really favoring the whole, 'us being together' thing." She smiled. "Well, of course we're not together!" OK. She doesn't need to be smiling about it now.

"The paparazzi made us the couple of the century, not you or me. Of course we're just friends, we just look like a couple in public so we can help each other up the latter. To help both of us get more popularity." I thought about this. This never occurred to me. We aren't together, we're just helping each other out. I said, "I never thought about it that way." Jean put a hand on my shoulder. "Of Course you didn't, you're still new to this whole 'superstar' thing." I stood up. "Thanks Jean. Your a great friend." She smiled. "Don't you want some cookies before you go?" I froze in mid stride. I have a serious sweet tooth. Its my kryptonite. "Well," I said. "Maybe for just a minute."

Cyrus Noble II Ch. 18: I Really Hate Goodbyes

We were now at the house. Each family outside the house, waiting for each of us to get what we can carry. Viktor's parents weren't hear, instead it was the father's date. I guess things didn't go according to plan. We all stood on the front porch in a little circle. I said, "I'll keep in touch with all of you. I promise." They nodded. I got down to Sara. "You be a good girl now. OK?" She nodded, with that sweet smile that was always too big for her face. I just wish I could say a deeper version of I love you to each of them, but those three words are all I got to work with. It's OK, Cyrus. I looked at Sara. She smiled. We know you love us. Yeah, I know, but I'll never tire of saying it.

I got to Magnet. "Be careful, Mag. I'll stop by whenever I can. OK?" He nodded. He was fighting tears to no avail. I gave him a hug.

I got to Megan. "You gonna be OK?" She nodded. She never liked exposing herself with emotions. I gave her a hug. "Just be safe OK?" I felt her nod. I guess she doesn't trust herself to talk.

I got to Viktor. He was my best friend, a jerk to boot, but still, I was going to miss him. We gave each other a manly embrace. No words need be said.

Then there's Jazz. We stood there for a second, not sure what to say. This was like a bad love scene in the head of a teenager. I said, "Remember when we 'Stayed up late and talked all night, in dark room lit by the TV light. Through all the hard times in my life, Those nights kept me alive." She giggled a bit. She loved it when I said the verse of a song to her. Since she loved music and all. I wanted to say something, but she interrupted me with a kiss.

After we broke, she whispered, "I'll be waiting for you Cyrus Noble." She ran off to her family. I watched as one by one, they left. I feel like my soul just got ripped apart. There was one last thing I need to do. I walked over to Marcus and Maria. I handed them a whole wad of cash. It had a couple hundred dollars in it. Marcus said, "We don't take charities." I rolled my eyes. "I'm giving you this as a way of saying 'thank you'. The least you can do is take it." He hesitated, but he took it. "There's a nice hotel on Wayne Avenue, downtown. You can stay there for the night before you go home." Maria smiled and nodded. "If it's any consolation, Mr. Noble, You are nothing like the man I use to date." I smiled too. "Thanks." They left. There was one last thing I need to do.

I pulled out my communicator. "General Cutler?" "This is him." I heard on the other end. "I need a pickup over here. Looks like you got yourself a new soldier."

The Life and Times of Haley Jones~Hope: My Story. Origins. Whatever.

OK. Where do I start? Um, I was at the usual hangout with my friends. The hangout was a rooftop on a six story apartment building on Dickson Avenue, the main street of Den-Martin, New Jersey. North of Virginia, South of Hoboken. My friends are probably the strangest group of friends out there. There's Candy: the fashion consultant, Joe Joe: the little punk who lives here and never stops eating, and Devlin: the peaceful giant.

Candy was my sister from another mister, if that makes sense. Even though she's a rocking black girl and I'm a pasty white girl. We grew up together, and shared everything together. Joe Joe, he's a real jerk, but he's also a good friend. He stuck up for anyone he could, and if you're a close friend, he made fun of you. I guess that's his way of saying he cares. Devlin was new around here a year ago. He is almost six feet tall, at fourteen! He enjoys reading books and learning about new things. Which seems rather unusual to me when he's that size.

I was leaning against the edge of the rooftop, Bored. Joe Joe was eating yet another bag of potato chips, Candy was working on her homework and occasionally trying to look off of Devlin's work. Devlin was already done, and sketching something on his pad.

Devlin checked his watch. "Hey guys, I gotta go. I promised my parents I'd clean up my room before they got home." He got up and left. Candy got a text. She said, "Ugh. I gotta go. My dad doesn't want me to miss out on dinner again." Joe Joe got up with her. "I'll go with ya." he said. "It gets a bit nasty in this area after dark." I nodded. "You go on ahead. I want to stay up here for a little while more." She smiled and nodded. She knew I liked being up here by myself. It was just so peaceful up here, it seems to clear my head.

They all left. A few minutes later I heard something behind me. I felt a little tremor shake the building. I spun around and looked at the distance. I saw a bunch of flashing lights outside the city. I saw little pieces of the light flying away from it, like fireworks. I leaned further to see what was happening. I slipped and fell.

As I was falling and screaming; I barely noticed one of those glowing things coming right at me. I braced my last impact with the Earth. I didn't feel it. I didn't feel the wind on my face anymore either. Did I die? I uncovered my face and looked around. I was in the middle of the air.

Oh. My. God. How am I doing this? I turned around to see if something caught me, or if I fell on something that broke my fall, but no. Here I am, in mid-air, nothing attached. Look Ma, No Hands! I thought about going up again, and I did. I stepped onto the rooftop again. I looked at my hands, smiled, and jumped off the building again. I soared through the air. I flew through the town, scaring half a million people to death.

I almost didn't realize what time it was. It was getting dark. I flew home and landed just outside the door. I took the whole "landing" thing slowly, so there wouldn't be evidence that I flew. I went inside.

My dining room can't exactly be seen from the doorway, I ran to my room and shut the door. My dad called out after me, "Hey, kiddo. You hungry?" I said back. "No, not really. I had a really rough day at school, I'm just gonna go to bed." They were probably looking at each other right now. My mom said, "OK. I'll just, wrap up your diner in case you get hungry. OK?" I was already in my room. I looked in the mirror. Hey! I wasn't wearing these clothes at the beginning of the day! And I never put my hair back with a ponytail either! Like ever! I hate my hair in a ponytail! What is going on?

I sat on my bed and looked at my lucky bracelet. I had it for as long as I can remember. It was a gift from my grandmother. It had a little button on it, and when you push it, it makes a clicking sound, which drives my little brother crazy. I always click it when I was nervous. I clicked it ounce and I was scared out of my mind when the little streamers of light started wrapping around my arm. It covered my body, and wrapped around my mouth, so I couldn't scream. Ounce I was completely covered, it disappeared. I was in my old clothes, again! That was weird. I tested it out again. I became that girl again, and back. I can use this, I can be like my own Superhero!

The Life and Times of Haley Jones~Hope: Introductions

Hi. If your reading this then "Good for you!", if your not, then "What's wrong with you?"

I am now walking home from school, I bet you're wondering what.....Oh crud, hold on.

I looked around and dived into the side alley down the street, to avoid people's gaze. I clicked my bracelet, and a streamers of light popped out of its jewel. They wrapped around me and I was completely calm. Once I was completely covered they seemed to burst and break and fade like they were dying fires. I was now in my usual uniform. I flew off to the danger the people were screaming and running from.

Confused? Don't be, I'll explain everything, just as soon as I get a hold on those bank car robbers.

I flew ahead of them. I stopped at a traffic light and hovered above the ground, waiting for them. They didn't slow down. I stood there and glared at them. They are soooo gonna lose. I put my hands out and prepared for impact. They hit me and I made a huge dent. They went for a few more feet. but I stopped them. They started getting out of the car. The driver pulled out a gun. "You are such a dead bit-" He didn't get to finish, due to me giving him a air kick to the face. I knocked out the other three guys into submission. Another job well done. I flew off as the police arrived. They called out after me, but hey; I got a lot of homework to do. A math work packet, a science project, and a current event for extra credit, is waaaay too much for a fourteen year old girl.

Oh, right. I almost forgot. Your wondering who I am, aren't you? My name is Haley Jones, and I'm, sortta, kinda, your average, ordinary, everyday, superhero. Nothing more. Oh, right I should tell you how I got my powers. Well, I guess that'll be in the next chapter. Hold on just a sec....

Cyrus Noble II Ch. 17: I Meet the Other Me.

There we stood, in front of the prison. The mother was physically trembling, I shouldn't have asked them to bring me here. "You don't have to go in if you don't want to." She shook her head. "We all need to face our fears sometime. I guess this is my time." I nodded. "What about you, Marcus?" He glared at me. "A clone of a murdering rapist, alone with my mom? Hell no." I nodded. "Fair enough." We all went into the prison.

I explained to the guards who I was and they fetched him. The usual visiting room was filled with guards on both sides of the window. We sat down on one end and they sat him down on the other. I couldn't believe the uncanny appearance of this guy and me. When he realized who the mother was he laughed and said, "Oh, don't tell me. Twins? It looks like you got your good looks from me. I'm surprised you didn't abort them, Maria." I glared at him. Before I could snap at him, Marcus said, "Don't you dare say her name! You don't deserve to." I gave him a sideglance. I have to be related to him somehow. I said, "I'm not your son, Richard. I'm a clone of you." He snickered. "Yeah, right kid. What is this? Screw around with your daddy day?" "Remember Bishop?" I asked plainly. His smile disappeared, like he was reliving something. "He took a sample of your blood, and he made me. Your ruthlessness was something that interrested him. Because of you, even being in here all day, you caused many others to die and suffer." He looked at me like I was crazy. "You will never know the true effects of your actions. You should've chosen a different life than this. You should've chosen better." I got up and left. I've seen enough.

I was outside the prison when I stopped and looked at my hands. That creature in there, it was consumed by Rage, Anger, Greed, and Lust. How can I be a carbon copy of that? All I've done, all this time, was prove exactly how much like him I really am. That's not true. That man would never have done what you did. You sacrificed everything to save your family, and to save the world. Yeah, but I'm a killer. It's in my blood. What place do I have on this Earth?

I felt a hand on my shoulder. I don't know why, but I turned thinking it was Jazz, but I saw Maria instead. "Are you OK?" She asked. I nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine, its nothing." She nodded. "We'll drive you to your house and your family."

Aw Crap, My Family!

Cyrus Noble II Ch. 16: Maria and Marcus Grimm

I stood up shook hands and sat down with them at the table. They introduced themselves as Maria and Marcus Grimm. The kid was giving me a nasty look, like he didn't like me and didn't know why. I said, "Well, I know you have a few questions, I have a few myself, but I guess you deserve some answers since you came all the way over here." The boy nodded. I took a deep breath. Here I go. "A friend of mine said that I was a clone, a clone of your husband, Mrs. Maria Grimm." The boy, Marcus, shifted uneasily. "Bishop used Mr. Richard's blood to create the ultimate soldier. He thought if he could channel that ruthlessness Richard had into a controlled experiment, he would become the next ruler with an unstoppable army. He also used his blood to mutate it for various purposes. My blood and organs were mutated so that I could walk away from any injury. As well as act like a total animal."

Marcus laughed a little, "With those fangs and claws, I'd say you're halfway there." "Marcus!" The mom said and slapped him upside the head. I almost said nothing, because he was right. I said, "That's really funny Marcus." I said serious now. "Having suffered through needles, different medicines, and battle simulations, and then having a trauma that wipes your memory of it, as well as everything before that, all clean, is really quite hilarious." His smile disappeared.

I continued, "Anyway, the family I've been fighting so hard to protect, is now in danger. I brought each of their genetic families here to take care of them. I only brought you here so I could get some answers myself. I don't expect you to adopt me or anything." The mom nodded. She looked really tired. I asked, "So, who was this man that I was cloned after?" She sighed, "He was the only man to actually treat me with respect for a long time. We fell in love, he..." She swallowed. "He took advantage of me. He was arrested soon after, but he took down six or seven cops in the process. I guess that's the ruthlessness your Bishop saw." I nodded. The kid just folded his arms and looked away. "I soon gave birth to Marcus here. He's a good boy, for the most part. When he's not picking fights in school." Marcus snapped back in protest, "I didn't start those fights, I told you that." She cocked an eyebrow, "Well, you sure finished them." I guess its in the genes.

I asked out of curiosity, "So, where is Richard now?" She looked at me. "St. Mary's Prison hold." I nodded. "I would like to see him." They looked a little taken aback.

Cyrus Noble II Ch. 15: Sara's, Magnet's, and Jazz's Parents

I sat very calmly and told the family what I could the best I could. The mom, kept on throwing in a "Oh, you poor thing." and I kept on picking up thoughts from the older boys. The both had short spikey dark brown hair. The older one was really big, he didn't look nine, he looked more like he was ten or eleven. The younger kid was about Magnet's height. He had the same big ears, too. The father was big, his head was shaved. The mother was half his height, with short brown hair. After I said my story, the father was rubbing his forehead. "I don't believe it." he said. Then he realized something, "Boys! You have a sister!" The oldest was scratching his head. "Did she get lost?" he asked, not really understanding the story he was told. Mom put a hand on his shoulder, "Something like that honey." They ran around the table and gave me hugs. I decided that this is a good thing.

I answered their questions the best I could. Although it wasn't easy, with the thief of a sister looking at me. The mom asked, "So, what you are saying is, that you want to come back and live with us?" I muttered, "Yeah." She smiled. "Well, I think that is a great idea! What about you Harry?" He smiled as well. "Why not?" They turned to the teenager. I don't know why, but I hope she likes me. I don't know if I can live with someone if I know they don't like me. She gave a little smile, "Uh, sure, whatever. Dumbo can live with us." I felt my ears. Dumbo?

I sat across my family. They looked like me, but I don't know what to say. The girl that lived with them looked exactly like me. She looks like she spends most of her time sprucing. I said, "I think that covers everything." I said, just finishing with the horror movie that is my life story. They sat there stunned. The girl was the first to react, "Oh. My. God. I have a sister! A twin sister! We can do everything together!" The father said, "I wouldn't mind hanging out with the daughter I never met." The mother said, "We don't have any room, honey. Where is she going to sleep?" The daughter, Carly, said, "She can share my room!" They were discussing plans and stuff. I was incredibly happy at the moment, but I'm also dieing inside. When will I get to see my family again? I looked around I can see Sara having a group hug, Magnet talking and laughing with his family, Viktor was nowhere to be seen, Megan in deep conversation with her dad, and Cyrus was just sitting down with his family. I am going to miss him........oh, the others too!

Cyrus Noble II Ch. 14: Megan's and Viktor's Parents

When I was done my dad said, "So, your friend set this up to protect you?" I nodded. "I say you are very lucky to have someone like Cyrus watching over you." I grunted. We sat there for a few minutes. "So," I began. "What's your story?" He started his story, how he met my mom, how they thought they were in love. When she died he was tempted to commit suicide. He said, "I would have stayed with her, I would have done my best to be a father. For the longest time, I've regretted that day, but now...." He looked at me. "I just learned that Mia gave me a beautiful and caring little girl." There were tears in his eyes. "You look just like her, you know that?" I moved from my end of the booth to his end, and we hugged each other. Maybe Cyrus was right, maybe we are better off knowing who are parents are.

I sat there and told my story to my mother and my father. After I was done the father made what sounded like a huff of amusement. "Figures. You kids get lonely and then you want you Mommies and Daddies back." The woman said nothing. While Mom said, "Could you at least pretend to have a heart William? The boy is blind! He needs help!" "Oh, I suppose you can do anything with the flick of a wrist, like you kept expecting me to when we were living together!" "No, but you could have done a lot more if you stopped drinking and uprooted yourself from the couch more often!" I've had about enough of this. "Yo!" I said getting their attention. "What the Hell is wrong with you people? I'm your son, the son you suppossedly lost in the middle of birth, doesn't that bother you at all? Now, I'm here telling you, that you've been lied to, and you're going to argue with each other?" "Shuddup, boy. You don't know nut'in about marriage." The lady stepped in. "What's the matter with you? If I lost a child I would've jumped off a building. Now that he's alive you don't even care? You I'm the most shocked about." She said, pointing to my mother. She responded, "I was devastated when I was told about what happened. Over time, I just learned to accept that these things happen." The woman stood up. "That's it, come on Viktor." She locked her arm in mine and started to leave. "Let's go for a walk." The father called out after her. "Sharon! Sharon!" She snapped back to him, "It's Miss Parkhurst to you." I didn't know what to say. "Um, thank you, Miss Parkhurst." She turned her head to me, I guess she was smiling. "Please, Call me Sharon."

Cyrus Noble II Ch. 13: A Family Matter

This is going to be so weird. We were at a restaurant that was practically next to the White House in Washington DC. It had kind of a hunter's cabin theme to it. I can't remember what its called, uh, something grill? I don't know. We explained what we wanted the waitress to do when the people got here. She would take them to our table, then take them to one of the reserved tables. None of us were hungry.

The first one entered it was Megan's dad. He came to us, looking a bit confused. Dear Lord, he is huge! I thought that one of the local prisons were missing a prisoner. Megan looked at us for one last time. We smiled and said, "Good Luck". They went to the table behind us, and started talking.

Jazz was next, She had her dad's brown eyes, and her mom's blond hair, Jazz looked almost exactly like her sister. The only difference was that Jazz was dressed like a tomboy, and she was dressed like she was the teen queen. They went to the table just in front of us.

Viktor was next. The Father had a lady close by his side, she could be Vik's sister. He looked like he had a bear belly. The mother was close behind and had a expression that was a mix of anger, confusion, and sadness. She looked like a secretary, especially with those glasses. They came here and got Viktor and sat down at a table.

Since Sara and Magnet are just kids I need to stay with them and explain things to the parents. I was wrong. Sara's family came in here. There wasn't enough room in the booth we were sitting in. Sara put a hand on my shoulder. Don't worry, I can explain it just as good as you can. I smiled at her. My brave little soldier. I let her out and they went to a table.

Magnet was the last one. He said, "Cyrus?" "Yeah, bud?" "I'm scared." I nodded. "Me too, bud. Me too."

We sat in silence until Magnet's family came around. The older sister looked bored until she saw me. I introduced myself to them and we sat down. I explained the basics, they seemed mortified by everything, the girl seemed more sorry/interested then mortified. I finished it up with, "Well, those are the facts. There's one more family on the guest list. I need to go meet them." They nodded like they understood. I turned to Magnet. "Behave yourself bud, and....be careful." He nodded and gave a nervous smile.

I went to the last reserved table. My hearts are working together to beat there way out of my chest. I sat down and tried to calm myself. How is this going to work? I was rubbing my face to wake myself up, when I heard a woman's voice. "Uh, Hello?" I looked up to see they were here. The woman was very pretty. She had hair so blond it was almost bleached. She had her son with her. He reminded me of, well, me. The way he stood there, protecting his mother. This was going to be very, very strange.

Cyrus Noble II Ch. 12: The Results

I'll skip the details, about us going to the base, meeting General Cutler again, and going through the shots. I didn't see Zero there surprisingly, they said he was busy tearing down Archer Co. and interrogating the people who worked there. Happy Hunting.

We were sitting in the waiting area of the medical wing. We all waited anxiously. The doctor came in with a bunch of papers. "Cyrus Noble?" he asked. "Yeah?" He nodded towards the doors. "I need to talk with you in private." I got up and followed him to the hallway. "There are a few things I need to tell you." I said, "Just say it." He nodded. "Each of the Doctor's that helped in giving birth to these children were payed off, by Bishop. They told each of the parents lies so they would not be looking for them." My fists clenched. The fact that they did that alone really pissed me off. He continued, "The one called Viktor, his parents have divorced since they thought he died in the middle of birth. The father has remarried in Wisconsin, the mother has moved to Florida and has a job as a Vice President to a large company. Megan, however, has a father. Her parents were sixteen when they bore the child, the mother died while giving birth. The father is doing quite well nowadays, he's a prison guard in New York City."

I gulped a little. They are not going to like this. "What about the others?" "Sara has a mother and a father. She also has two older brothers, about eight and nine. They are in Springfield, Missouri at the moment." I stopped him there. "Wait. How can Sara have a mother and a father? Bishop said that he's her father." The scientist looked through his papers. "Unknown. However, studies of Bishop's methods show that he often used hypnotism." He made a gesture like, There you go. "Oh." Was all I could manage. He continued, "Magnet has an older sister and both parents are still alive. They all live in the Virginia Beach area. The daughter however has a record. She was caught and charged with stealing four different times." Great, a criminal in the family. "What about Jazz?" He rechecked the papers and said, "Both parents are in Washington DC area, she has a twin sister. They thought she died as well." I sighed. Well, phase one of destroy-everything-I-ever-worked-for is complete. "What about me?" I asked.

He sighed, "Yours seems to be a little more complicated." He told me my situation, and I think I almost dropped dead. I ended the conversation quickly. "Do you have a list of the addresses?" I asked. He nodded, "Here you go." He handed me a piece of computer paper. "Thank you." He started to walk off. "Wait." I said. He stopped and turned to me. "I need you to destroy the blood samples." He smiled. "I thought you might, I destroyed them as soon as I got the results." I nodded. "Thank you."

Cyrus Noble II Ch. 11: The Bad News.....

"WHAT?!?!" the gang said simultaneously. We were sitting at the dining room table. I let them know of my plan, they were going to find out sooner or later, might as well it be now.

"We are NOT splitting up this family!" Jazz fumed. "I'm just starting to make friends at school!" Megan said. Viktor says, "This is way uncool, man." Magnet said, "We were going to have a hangman tournament tomorrow in class!" Sara said, "What's wrong with us now?" I slammed the table. "There is nothing wrong with any of us!" I took a deep breath to calm myself. "That monster was after me. I don't want you guys to get hurt." I kept glancing at Jazz without meaning to, and I had to focus on the news itself and not about the fact that Bishop is alive. I don't need Sara tellin the rest of them. "Anyway, whether you like it or not, we are all going to General Cutler to find our parents." They offered to do it ounce, I denied it at the time, but now......

"Please, guys, don't make this harder than it needs to be. I love each and every one of you, and that's the reason we are doing this. I am going to find a Mom and a Dad for each of you." Sara says, "But...your our dad!" "No I'm not Sara. I'm a sixteen year old biological weapon, not a father." I looked at all of them one last time and said, "It's settled. Broadsword will be here first thing tomorrow morning." They all stormed off. Megan ran to her room and slammed the door. Jazz went to the garage, that is her official work area. Magnet formed his board and went out the door. Sara went upstairs. Viktor just sat there. I said, "Look man, I'm sorry. You are going to hate me forever, but all I ask is for you to understand." Viktor shot back. "Shut up Cyrus. Last night, Angie admitted herself to me and said she really liked me. I was happy for a while, man. And now..." He was clenching his fist. I sighed as he got up to listen to TV.

I tried to talk to Megan, but she is raging right now. I went to Jazz. "Jazz?" She was writing something down furiously, and ignoring me. "Look Jazz, I--" "How could you?!!" She slammed the table and stood up. She stomped over to me. "I thought we were.....I thought you....." She started breaking into a bit of a sob. I hugged her. "Don't you think I feel the same way?" I asked quietly. "This is something that has to be done." She said nothing. "And besides, haven't you wondered?" She said, "No, because I know I don't need a real family as long as we have you." I sighed. we broke and I wiped her tears away from her soft face. I gave her a kiss, and said, "I'll make the last meal tonight."

I made a special dinner that consisted of chicken chunks and french fries. It took a while but when that aroma got around everyone started showing up. Even Magnet came back inside from flying around on his metal board. I sat at the table and soon Jazz came to sit beside me. We ate in silence.

After it was dark, I went to bed. Usually we would stay up till it was eleven, but everyone started hitting the hay early. I went to sleep. I was standing in the middle of Chicago again, having a good ol' time with Jazz and my family. I was buying them ice cream when Talos appeared out of nowhere. Then I blinked and I was standing in that hell hole again. I heard Sara's voice, haunting me. Cyrus. Cyyyyrruuuus. I woke up sitting straight up in my bed, sweating and scared.

Sara was standing next to the bed. She was looking at me with a scared face and she was clutching her stuffed animal tight. She said, "Cyrus?" I forced myself to be calm for her sake. "Hey, Sara. What's up?" She stammered a bit. "I.........Bobby had a nightmare. He would feel much safer if he was with you." I nodded. "Oh, I see." I moved over so she could climb up on the bed. "Come on up here." She crawled in and snuggled close. Soon, she was asleep. I almost cried, This is the last time I'll be there to protect her from the monsters of her imagination, and the monsters of others as well.

I wasn't lying when I said I loved them. I have to protect them, even if they hate me for it.

Rising Ch. 5: A Hero's Reward

Nicole looked at me and whispered, "We can't just sit here!" "What do you want me to do, put a flash light under my chin and pretend I'm the Angel of Death? Besides if I do anything they'll kill her!" We just got down to the ground and stayed there as the thug's van rolled up. The side door opened up and they all got in. I looked at the licence plate and read it over and over again. At least I'll be able to give the police something. Apparently I didn't need to, the van started and it never went anywhere. What is going on in there?

"Jesus, George! What is going on up there? We need to get out of here, NOW!" The driver stumbled, "I checked everything out this morning! There is no reason it should have broke down!" He stuck his head out the window to see three sticks protruding from the tires. The same thing was going on with the other tires. He stepped out of the van. "What the Hel--Ack!" He was punched in the throat and thrown into the wall. He pinned his sleeves to the wall. The thugs saw this and they exited the van, the last one had Jean in his grasp, a gun pointed at her head. There were seven of them left. The figure came out from behind the van and had his spikes come out of his elbow. He slashed down the back one of the guys in the back. He then snapped the spike and stabbed one of the others in the stomach. The all pointed their guns on him.

"Who the hell is this?" one asked. The figure just raised his hands like "I give up". The apparent leader of them said, "Cover me." He walked up and jerked the figure's hood back. The guy looked like he was sixteen. He had bright green eyes, and short, spikey black hair. He seemed to have a spike or two on his face, pointing downward. I decided to make my move.

I removed my tux jacket and ran to kick the hostage holder. Jean screamed out of surprise. I said, "Get down! Get down!" She hot-I mean HIT, the floor and covered her head. While the leader looked at what was going on, the new guy gave him a bear hug and forced his spikes to grow. He let go and the guy fell to the floor.

I knocked out the next one, and kicked the gun out of grasp of the third. The kid ran another spike into the last one. The last one was unarmed. He was backing up slowly. I cracked my knuckles, then asked, "You want this one, or do you want me to handle it?" He gestured with his hands. He's all yours. I took to the air then planted my feet to his face, which planted his head to the ground. He was out.

I turned to the kid to thank him, but he was gone. Where did he--"Oof!" I was tackled with a hug by Jean Parker. "Ooooooh my God. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You're my hero!" She let up and traded her hug with a deep kiss.

A bunch of people started taking pictures and whistling.
Oooooh. I am going to get so much crap for this.

Rising Ch. 4: Jean Parker

The angry teen was walking down the street. There had to be someone who knows where this kid lives. He looked at the clear night sky, at least its not raining. He saw something else up there. Was that a, that white speck in the sky! That is Gabriel Collins, and it appears something is flying with him. It was a darker figure, if he or she is an ally it could be trouble.

There is only one reason they would be flying so low, they plan on landing. Somewhere close by. This was his chance! He kept his hood up and followed them to a small building where they dropped into the alley. He watched as they continued to put on their jackets and walk out of the alley. He was on the other side of the street, watching from afar. Looks like murderers can even find a dates these days. Whatever, she is not important, or is she a decoy? Someone for the true heroes to watch out for, if they are looking for revenge? That must prove he is guilty!

He stalked them at a certain distance they were going to a restaurant. They....are waiting in the line? I thought he was a celebrity! Why doesn't he just stroll right in? Maybe he doesn't want the attention, yeah, no need to expose yourself for your enemies, but justice is futile.

Nicole and I have been in this line for about thirty minutes and we were almost to the front. I didn't know what to say exactly, so I figured I'd compliment her. "That's a nice dress." I said, absent-mindedly. She smiled. "You already said that ya dork." "Well, it is." I was scratching the back of my head. "Oh, look a limo." I said, glad we could get off the odd topic. The limo stopped in front of the restaurant, the back door opened, and a very familiar girl stepped out. Someone yelled, "Oh My God! It's Jean Parker!"

Jean Parker is a movie actress, singer, TV Show actress, and was elected the Hottest Celebrity of the year, by the media and fan base. She's a good actor and singer, I never met her before. She usually surprises everybody by going to random places for a "good night out". I guess she was tired of the regular french cooking professionals, so she's settling for the second best.

She stepped out and the limo drove off. Nicole was as surprised as I was. "What is someone like Jean Parker doing here?" "I don't know." I answered honestly. She was in a nice exotic blue and green dress. She had curly, red bouncy hair. OK, I will say this, There is a reason why she was elected hottest woman of the year. She waved to some people and when she saw me she gave me a wink. My face burned. I didn't even realize that Nicole was glaring at me. She went to the bouncer and said, "Yes I believe I put a reservation here." He nodded, and began to open the door for her when the door thrust open and a bunch of masked men with guns popped out. They grabbed Jean Parker and pointed guns at everybody. "Everybody down on the ground! Get down or the celebrity dies!"

Crap.
And because of my mood, I'll say again in Spanish.
El Crape'

81+1 Heroes Ch. 36: Emotions

"OK, to begin we must go and learn a little about the average mind." Alice says as we walk around my old house. It was a little trashy house. It had a blue carpet going through the entire house. The Master bedroom was in the back of the house. My room was straight to the right as soon as you walk through the front door. Alice looked around the house. "Is there an area here where you would keep stuff, just kind of 'out-of-the-way'?"

I nodded. "Uh, here." I walked to the door next to my room. It acted as a storage closet in the real world, however if it in my head then I guess it serves as something else. I opened it and it looked like it was the prison hold were I went and saw Red, before I got locked in that room. I entered and all the doors were clear. Inside each of them was me. I looked at the closest one. There I was, playing a video game. The car in the game got to a finish line and she screamed. "Yes! Eat my Dust! You Gangsta Fools!" I took a step back. I never acted like that whenever I won something.
Alice came behind me. "Oh, this is the part of your mind that holds your emotions. This one is obviously your competitiveness." I said, "Oh. She doesn't act like the way I do, whenever I win or lose something. I try to be a good sport." She nodded. "This is your raw emotion. This is you consumed by one emotion. Which is never a good thing. If you only have one emotion then you effect the rest of your mind and the rest of your life. That's why they're locked up here." I looked into another one. I saw me staring at a poster on the wall. The walls in this room were full of posters of different guys from all around the world. "What is this one, Love?" I asked. Alice came behind me and said, "No." very seriously. "That is Lust, not love. There is a thick wall between the two. We all have to find the difference sometime in our lives."

I asked. "So what are we looking for?" She answered. "A way to your center. Ounce we get there we will need to learn how to defend your mind. Lose your mind, lose your sanity."
"From what?" I asked. She shrugged, "Anything. Strong emotions that will effect your decisions, the mind will sometimes see an alien force and try to destroy it, it will even throw up illusions to trick you." OK. I was ready to leave.

As soon as I thought that I heard a bit of a chuckle behind me. I turned to see my dad standing there. He was a strong, and burly man. He wore glasses, a checkered shirt, dirty jeans, and his old workman shoes. He had a wicked smile on his face. "Hello girls." He took a step toward us. I was paralized. "D-dad?" I shook that thought away. "No. You are not my dad! Go away you freak!" I think tears are starting to form. He continued to step towards us. Alice put a hand on my shoulder. "This is your mind, Noel. Only you can face your demons." I ran to slam my fist in his face.

As soon as it connected I woke up from the dream, out of breath and sweating. Alice was next to me. We were back in the wrestling room. She looked at me calmly, "Its OK. I think we're ready to try it on Red."

81+1 Heroes Ch. 35: My Idea

It was just another day at school. It was November now, and it was only getting colder. I was running home because I just had an idea. Dexter said that he used a psychic to keep his plan secret, while saving me. What if we used this psychic girl to help Red? If we can figure out exactly what happened on the day Red went missing, we can help her! Right?

"No." He said. I told him my idea. "No?" I repeated. "Why no?" He turned back to observing whatever it is underneath his microscope. He then said, "I tried it before. Its allready hard enough for Alice to bring someone into someone else's mind with her, but last time we almost didn't make it back with our sanity intact." I said, "Yeah, but last time you didn't have me. Please Dexter, I feel....connected, somehow, to that thing that's inside Red. I know I can help her, but I need your permission." He turned to looked at me. He had a very sorry look in his eyes. He closed his eyes. "Allright." he said. "We'll go with your plan, but you have to go through mind training, with Alice, like I had to."

Alice and I sat in the middle of the wrestling room. Its also the Kendo meeting area that's going to have to change where we meet. Anyway, since it was after school there was nobody here. I was one of the captains already, so I had the key to this place. We sat in the middle of the room crosslegged. I asked Alice, "Uh, I don't mean to be rude, but why are we here?" Alice answered, "Because I thought this was the perfect place to concentrate. Its quiet, and nobody can interupt us. Now, to start we need to enter your own mind first. Please take my hand, close your eyes, concentrate, and we will begin." I did so.

I opened my eyes to find myself in my old room, the one I had before we moved. It was pink, all my stuffed animals I had since I was nine. I looked to see Alice beside me. She was still herself, with her straight blond hair, baggy jeans, and a purple T-shirt with a peace sign on it. I said, "Alice?" She opened her eyes and looked around the room. "Oh," she said. "Very good, that took a shorter time than I expected. I'm guessing this is your aparment room? Or is it one of your previous ones?" "Previous." I said. "I see." she said. Observing the animals.

"You are homesick, which means you have a hard time letting some things go. Which means, with the defensive perimiters around Red's mind, we have a lot of work to do."

Great.

Cyrus Noble II Ch. 10: Failure

Bishop jerked around when he heard that powerful voice behind him. He had some strange, foreign feeling in his center. Was it fear? It doesn't matter. He made his way across the giant room to the three Pods. There was a pad in front of the three of them, they all faced the center of the pad.
He kneeled in the center. He said, "Masters, you have awakened." The center canister showed eyes that glowered at him. "Have you succeeded in your mission, Bishop?" He was almost trembling. "N-no, My Masters. However, with a little more time I could--" SILENCE!!!!

"You were given two thousand years to clear the planet for us. Time and Time again, you have failed us. Each of your identities, inventions, and plans never worked!" Bishop was stumbling. "P-please, give another chance and I'll show you that I am worthy of your promise land!" The being he was speaking to, has forced the Pod open. He stepped out and breathed air for the first time in eons. He looked at the weakling that was Bishop. "You have had your chance."

He gave Bishop his life. Now he is taking it back.

After doing so he turned to his Brother and Sister. "We must rest. It will not be long till we are at our true strength."

Rising Ch. 3: A Very Important Date

We were flying home together. It was still early Saturday morning. I yelled over the wind, "So, Nicole. You got anything planned for tonight?" She shook her head no. "Oh, well I was wondering if you wanted to go with me to Le' Pierre's?" I said the name of the restaurant with a french accent. I was right above her so when she tried to jerk her head back to look at me, I almost laughed. "Gabriel!" When she said my name like that she starts to become a mother of me. "We talked about saving your money for a good education and your house payments!" I said, "Hey! You'd be surprised how paying these 5% of money earnings for the air shows AND the minimum wage can be!" She looked away to try to keep from laughing. Yeah, I work at McDonald's. I thought that since I still need a job, and since I'm still sixteen, McDonald's seemed like a good idea. I see teenagers working there in the movies, why not me? Besides, its only temporary. The workers there have NO idea who I am, including my boss.

She continued, "We're supposed to be saving that money for a special occasion!" I gestured to her. "You are the special occasion!" Yeah, I just said that. She paused. Then she said, "That is SO sweet, but you know what I mean!" I got her right where I want her. "So......that's a yes?"

I went up to my room to get ready for my date. I asked Nicole if she needed me to buy something for her to wear. She said she had something already and insisted that I didn't do anything for her, since we are going to a four star restaurant. I got my tux and pulled it out of its sleeve. Geez, I didn't have to wear this thing since my dad's press conference for Family's of America Magazine. Nicky was right when I said I should be saving money. I didn't really realize that a house was so expensive. I got plenty of money left, but its not unlimited. I just wanted to do something nice for her.

Later that night, I went over to Nicole's house. I was nervous. I've dated before, but with someone I really like? I'm not talking about those tiny crushes some kid would get over a year later, I really like her, maybe even more.

I knocked on the door. Mr. Miller opened it up. "Uh, hey." I said. He smiled a little and said, "Please, come in." I'd rather stay outside, when you say it like that, but my body took one step in front of the other inside. I stood in the parlor room, and made sure my tie was good. Mr. Miller said to me, "Listen son, just because your living by yourself doesn't mean your all grown up. Your still a kid, learning life like the rest of us. That means I still have a daughter to protect, you do know that don't you?" I nodded. "Yes sir. I realize what you're saying sir. I don't plan on making big leaps forward without taking a couple steps back." He nodded.

We both jumped a little when a voice came from upstairs. "Dad! Are you trying to scare him?" We both say at the same time, "No!" Nicole started walking down the stairs and my heart skipped a beat.

She was in a sparkling white dress, it didn't have a back so her wings were showing. She had a small white jacket with golden laces in her arms with her purse. She looked as nervous as me. "H-how do I look?" she asked when she got to the bottom. I was stammering, "You, uh, look gr-great." She smiled a little. "Its my Mom's. You look good too." she said. I took off the jacket of my tux. I probably ruined the tux forever by make little slits in the back for my wings, but that's OK. We agreed to fly for most of the trip then walk the rest of the way there.

Nicole said, "Come on. We better get going before my mom finds the camera."

As we left I heard Mr. Millers call out behind me, "I wanna see you in front at all times, Mr. Collins!" What? Why would he tell me to.......Oh. My face burned as I realized what he was implying.

Cyrus Noble II Ch. 9: Mutate

The thing tore down a wall and slipped its tentacles into the room. It grabbed two kids. I looked at Viktor. "I got it!" he said as he shot his blasts they hit it in the chest he dropped the kids and got back from the wall. The teacher was yelling at them to get back there, and they did so without question. I ran towards it and tackled it. We need to get this thing away from the school.

Off to the corner of my eye, I can see the playground fence getting ripped out of the ground and balled up. I smiled as I jumped up and out of the way for the fence ball to slam him. I turned to a triumphant Magnet and gave him the thumbs up. My smile turned into a look of horror as the thing attacking the school spoke. It was kind of a mix between a hiss, and a moan, it also sounded like the guy was speaking like he was out of breath. He said, "Mutate.....Mutate must tell....... tell Cyrus Noble....Bishop......alive." Was I hearing this guy right? "What did you say?" He heaved, "Bishop......bigger plans..........Masters........the Masters.........The Masters Are Coming! Coming for Mutate! Coming for me! Destroys the world!" I stepped closer. "Who? Who are the Masters? And what about Bishop?" Jazz and Megan came up behind me. It only said this, "World......Doomed." Then it lunged at us. It wrapped its arm tentacle around me and held me in the air. It electrocuted me and threw me through the air!

After I landed I got up to see Megan kicking and punching its back from the air. Jazz was doing the same on the ground. She can't do much without her tools, and since somebody put up a law about weapons in schools, and since her tools count as weapons, she only has her hands and feet to work with. She always has her super sonic scream, but she prefers she didn't. Magnet was hitting it with a metal bat that he constructed with his ball of metal. He disguises it as a bulky metal bracelet, even though with his imagination he calls it his futuristic watch.

I ran towards it, but apparently I don't have to do anything now, cause it just fell. Dropped dead, right in the middle of a fight. Sara stepped out of the hole in the wall of the classroom. She smiled and waved when I looked at her. She knocked him out, he wasn't dead. I walked over to the thing. Broadsword Choppers came up overhead. They landed, and the side doors slid open. Metal Me was standing there with a smile on my still messed up face. He walked out to greet us.

Jazz got excited and hugged him. "Metal Cyrus!" OK. I've seen enough of him. I said, "Hey, why do still have my face?" He let Jazz go and turned to me. "Oh, they said they will be preparing to change my face when I get back from helping with the monster." I almost sneered. "Yeah well, if we weren't here you would have to put up a memorial service for about six or seven kids." He cleared his throat and Jazz slapped my shoulder. "Anyway," I said. "Its good to see you again. I mean, see me again." He smiled. Then he said, "You guys go on home, before the news network arrives and finds out your secret home." I nodded. "Thanks." We went, got our stuff, and went on home.

On the way, I couldn't help but think that thing was after me. Only me. Bishop is still alive, and he's planning something big, bigger than Weapon Project Talos. And this time, I need to do this alone.
