81+1 Heroes Ch. 39: Pandora's Interveiw

Dexter and I sat across from Pandora. She recently recovered and saved us from the monster lurking in Little Red's mind. She was resting now. Misty the Mystic and some of the others are doing an medical check on her to see if she is truly OK. Pandora clutched her box tightly, I never understood why Dex let her have it, I guess he trusts her. "So, Pandora." I said. "Why did you save us a few minutes ago?" She answered nervously. "Well, y-you saved me, I think, and I saw that-that monster, and I just acted without thinking." I nodded. I didn't notice this till just now, but she had a certain accent in her voice. It was slight, but I'm guessing its Italian.

Dexter stepped in. "Why did you start working for Maximus?" She paused for a second. "He made me feel like, I belong. Back home, er I mean, back where I came from, people called me a curse. I wasn't any good to anybody. No matter what I did. He said, that soon enough, I will belong with everyone else." I can understand that. When you have no one else to turn to, you usually end up in the worse situations you can get in. Dexter wrote something on his little pad. I asked, "Do you know what he's planning?" She lowered her head, so that her bangs covered her eyes. "Yes." she muttered. I heard Dexter's pencil snap. We looked at each other. I turned to Pandora and asked her, "Could you tell us?" She nodded. Then after a pause she said, "He has a city built. Its--"

She was interrupted by a tremor. What was that? We both got up and Pandora was right behind us. We got to the computer, and it showed a city appearing out of the water. It floated into the air. The city looked like a disc, with a slanted equator pointing outward. It had skyscrappers, and buildings sticking out of the top and bottom. It had pads on the edges of the city.

It started floating towards the East coast of the United States.
