"So, what are we going to do?" I asked Dexter. The others were right behind me. "Are we going to stage a full out assault on New Olympus," "Noel." "or go in all sneaky and take it down from the inside?" "Noel." "I'll just go and get a battle suit and--" "Noel!" He finally snapped. I jumped a little. Dexter never actually snapped like that to me before. He took a deep breath and said, "Look, we can't do anything right now. If we stage an attack, then that's all Maximus will need to stage a war against the U.S. If we do that, then there will be casualties on both sides. All we can do is try and warn the government and hope for the best." Everyone looked a little bummed. "Besides," he said. "I don't know about you, but I could use a little vacation. Thanksgiving break is next week everybody! We are going to have it at the usual place. Spread the word around. I'll put up a post in the lobby."
After everyone left he went straight to the medical wing. I followed him. I wanted to talk him out of not doing anything. When he got there he went over to Red's bed. She was sound asleep. When Dexter sat down she fluttered her eyes open. "Dexter?" she whispered. He grabbed her hand. "It's OK. I'm right here. Every thing's alright." She asked. "Is the Monster gone?" He nodded, he had a small tear in his eye. "Yes. He's gone now. You won't have to worry about him anymore." She got up and hugged him.
I understand now. He just wants to hangout with his sister, catch up on the time they've lost. I don't know what its like, having a brother or sister, but I wish I did. I left the two alone, I don't want to intrude.
