I was always told that I was a mistake, a curse, a monster. For a while I believed all of them, but my mother would always prove me wrong. Her name was Ellysia, named after the Heavenly Realm of the underworld. She was a beautiful and caring woman, why anyone would ever want to outright murder her is beyond me.
I'm sorry, you must be rather confused right now. I'll explain here. My name is Malesus. The name was given to me by the people that had to live with me. I have forgotten my true name, not that it matters. My mother I told you already, my father is someone much, much worse. He fell in love with my mother, when the Olympian gods wanted her to hand me over, she refused. She ran away, and we lived happily for a while, but when I was thirteen the father came back. Hades took my mother away, and I made a promise that day, that the Lord of the Dead will be on his own deathbed.
I am Malesus, Child of Death. It has been a year since I lost my mother. I have nothing to remember her by, nothing but this little coin she had. It was unique, because it was made to have her face on it. It doesn't do her justice, but its all I got.
I was sleeping in yet another barn, with a rude awakening. I heard someone coming in, so I opened one eye and saw the farmer sneaking up to me with a pitchfork. I sat straight up and he froze. He was an old man with the beard and all. He said, "Go back to Hades! Yer Demon!" I rolled away from his pitchfork and punched his side. He crippled under me. I said, "I'm sorry for the scare. The pain will subside in a day or two." He just glared at me and I grabbed my bag and left. I don't want to make my father more powerful than he already is.
I was trying to just survive on my own, I'm not looking for a fight. I just want to go to the the underworld and back, although the gods have cursed me and I will always be hated and never will be remembered in history. I don't care about the remembering, so much as the cursed part. I can't hardly get to a barn to sleep in, let alone the underworld.
