TL&TOHJ~Hope: I Tell Paul

I bolted for the Mystery Man I incountered before and he shot an energy ball at me and flew off. The coward. I was fine, but the energy ball caught me by surprise, which gave plenty of time for the guy to escape. I'll have to worry about him later.

"Haley!" I jumped a little: As much as you can jump when you're hovering above the ground. I turned around slowly to see Paul standing there. He said, "You get down here so that I can talk to you." I got down on the ground with my head hanging. I said, "I guess you know now, huh?" He asked, "How long?"

"Since the day before I asked you to build Link for me." He nodded. "uh huh. So for all this time, its been you, saving cops and banks and other people?" I muttered a "Yes." "So...how did this happen?" I told him the whole story about me seeing something explode in the distance, me falling, and the light hitting me and giving me my powers. He scratched his chin the way he does when he's thinking.

"I am going to assume that Mom and Dad do not know?" I said, "Oh, please don't tell them! If you tell them they will NEVER let me be a hero! I love doing this, and It's MY responsibility!" He gave me a look and thought about it. "OK. Fine, I won't tell them." I relaxed a little and began to say thank you but he put his hand up and said, "Wait." Uh, Oh. "You have to tell them." I gawked at him. "What?" "You have to tell them." He said casually. "It doesn't have to be today, and it doesn't have to be tommorow, but you do have to tell them at some point." I sighed. "I'm probably going to have to tell them anyway to keep from being expelled." He looked at me puzzled. "Why is that?" he asked.

I told him about why I was here and how I got here and how I am going to be in so much trouble when I get back. He was scratching his chin. He said, "Today, a responsible adult was with you. The owner of the Moped will find a full tank of gas in his moped and fifty dollars for his troubles." I was overwelmed with joy. I tackled him with a hug. "Oh, Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You are the bestest big brother in the WORLD!" He hugged back. "I know." He said in his goofy voice.
