Cyrus Noble part 28: Weapon Project Talos

We made our way to the Docking Bay. But it never occurred to me what they were docking here. The simplest I can explain it is that it looked like an Eighty story man. If that man was bulking, made of metal and had a cannon for a left forearm. I didn't care though. I only cared about where Bishop was, so I could skin him alive. There was an elevator leading to the head. I got on it just as it was taking off, Omega right behind me. I don't care where she goes anymore. As long as she's not in my way.

We got to the top floor. I saw Bishop at the door leading into the head. I had to run halfway in front of the face to get to it. He saw me and, judging by those raised brows, he wasn't expecting me. He ran through the door and someones voice came up over the speaker. "Launching Weapon Project: Talos. In T-minus 30 seconds. Please clear the--" I didn't hear anything other than that. Omega seems to have disappeared.

Talos? Really? I got to the door. I couldn't open it. The walkway was being recalled. I tried to hang on to the ledge or something, but I just couldn't get a grip. I fell on the shoulder of the thing. The shoulder looked about a mile long, and a half as much from chest to back. I grabbed on to whatever I could.

The entire building, man, thing shifted. It began to rise. I saw sunlight, which temporarily blinded me. Ounce my eyes adjusted, I saw that we were just outside the city that is Chicago. Ounce the machine stopped moving I stood to have a view of the sky scraper we blew up back at home did not have. A deep and booming voice came from the machine. "TARGET SELECTED: PREPARING FISSION CANNON." With that he raised his cannon and rested it in his hand. It manually pumped the thing ounce. Then fired. I swear I was going to go deaf.

It was like it was in slow motion. The projectile was spinning as it flew. It hit a street at the center of the city........Holy Lord. A mushroom cloud sprouted, buildings began to fall, I could hear people screaming.

The wave of he blast was too much for me. I went flying. I blacked out before I hit the ground.
