It was raining today. I couldn't fly in this. Plus there was the chance I would get struck by lightening. I asked Mr. Millers if I could borrow his car. I had to convince him that I would fill it up before I got back.
I just arrived to Jean's current Hotel when I saw someone very familiar on the sidewalk. He was standing there as if waiting for something. I stopped the car and stepped out. I called out, "Hey! Don't I know you from somewhere?" He nodded. I realized he was the mystery dude who I helped out in saving Jean.
I turned the car off and walked toward him. I asked, "Why did you run after saving Jean Parker? You could have gotten some serious action bud." He sneered at me. "That was a minor setback. If those robbers didn't show up you would have been dead already." I looked at him, a little puzzled. "By whose hands?" I asked. He glared at me. Then answered, "MINE!!" He grew spikes from his arms and lunged at me.
As I'm dodging his blows, I try to do the natural thing and get a conversation going. "Don't I at least get a--whoa!--a trial? Or at least a name?" He screamed at me. "The name's Pierce! And you killed my father! You killed him before I even got to meet him!" Aw crap.
"Your father--wouldn't happen to be Spyker,--would he?" He paused for breath. "Yes!" He lunged again. I dodged and ripped off my rain coat. I was going to get soaked, but I need to do the essential thing here and survive. I spread out my wings and took to the skies. Not too high though, its still storming out here. I kicked and punched from the air, which had little effect. I said this while we were fighting, "If you wanted to kill me, then why did you help me at the restaurant?" He answered back between grunts. "I want you dead! Not anyone else! Now that the decoy is out of the way, I can afford to strike you!" Oh. I guess Nicole keeps more away than the feelings of loneliness, huh?
He pulled out a spike from his arm. It was at least six feet long. He used it to pull a vault into the air and right towards me. This left him vulnerable. I spun in the air and connected my foot with his face. He went flying and hit a parked car on the other side of the street. I floated down, and walked over to him. He wasn't dead. Good.
I killed his dad? How does that work? I never thought of Spyker as a normal person. I never met the real him. In the end he made his choice, it was either me or him. I chose him. It never occurred to me that he could have had a family. It makes you wonder, who else have I affected? How many people are connected to my actions?
