Here was the plan. We all find hiding places in certain areas of the building by hiding in pairs. Pair one: Viktor and Magnet. Pair two: Me and Megan. Pair three: Jazz and Sara. Jazz will place the detonators while Sara pushes thoughts to people to stay away from where they are heading. The rest of us will run interference. Building's got to have security systems that have got to work even in a fire. Angie will pull the fire alarm when we give the signal.
Jazz buzzed in. They were ready. Viktor buzzed in too, "Please hurry I think Mag here is about to rip one." While I ignored their little argument, I was looking for a decent hiding spot. I had an idea. I can climb in the air ducts. Suddenly the Fire Alarms went off. Angie came on, "I didn't do that! I swear!" Before I could acuse her of anything, Jazz relied, "It's OK. Just get out and meet us back at the house." I looked at Megan. She shrugged, "Hey. I guess we got lucky." I shook my head. "No. I don't like wear this is going." I turned my attention back to the Earpiece. "Guys. Roll call." Angie, Sara, and Jazz answered back. But when I called Viktor and Magnet there was only static. Crap. They don't joke around with me when I'm worried. Now I have to go and find them. Jazz buzzed in, "What are we going to do?" "Stick to the plan for now." I answered back, "If things get too hot you get out of here. Sara contact me if there is anything important you've learned. Check in every twenty minutes. Got it?" "Yes."
We were dodging screaming people and dodging the site of escorting security guards. We were close to the top. I still couldn't smell smoke, and since I have the nose of a bloodhound that sets off a red flag in my head. I should be able to smell the smoke before anyone even notices the fire. That's bad. I need a scent, anything he might have touched or brushed. I smelled something similar on the man coming up here. I grabbed his arm. He looked at me with a panicked expression. I asked, "Have you seen a white haired kid wearing a blindfold and another one wearing goggles?" I probabley sounded crazy, but he looked at me with ernesty. He stuttered, "Y-yeah. I saw two kids like that. They were being carried off by some, uh, men in black suits." Megan gasped.
I think one of my hearts just skipped a beat.
