Cyrus Noble II Ch. 16: Maria and Marcus Grimm

I stood up shook hands and sat down with them at the table. They introduced themselves as Maria and Marcus Grimm. The kid was giving me a nasty look, like he didn't like me and didn't know why. I said, "Well, I know you have a few questions, I have a few myself, but I guess you deserve some answers since you came all the way over here." The boy nodded. I took a deep breath. Here I go. "A friend of mine said that I was a clone, a clone of your husband, Mrs. Maria Grimm." The boy, Marcus, shifted uneasily. "Bishop used Mr. Richard's blood to create the ultimate soldier. He thought if he could channel that ruthlessness Richard had into a controlled experiment, he would become the next ruler with an unstoppable army. He also used his blood to mutate it for various purposes. My blood and organs were mutated so that I could walk away from any injury. As well as act like a total animal."

Marcus laughed a little, "With those fangs and claws, I'd say you're halfway there." "Marcus!" The mom said and slapped him upside the head. I almost said nothing, because he was right. I said, "That's really funny Marcus." I said serious now. "Having suffered through needles, different medicines, and battle simulations, and then having a trauma that wipes your memory of it, as well as everything before that, all clean, is really quite hilarious." His smile disappeared.

I continued, "Anyway, the family I've been fighting so hard to protect, is now in danger. I brought each of their genetic families here to take care of them. I only brought you here so I could get some answers myself. I don't expect you to adopt me or anything." The mom nodded. She looked really tired. I asked, "So, who was this man that I was cloned after?" She sighed, "He was the only man to actually treat me with respect for a long time. We fell in love, he..." She swallowed. "He took advantage of me. He was arrested soon after, but he took down six or seven cops in the process. I guess that's the ruthlessness your Bishop saw." I nodded. The kid just folded his arms and looked away. "I soon gave birth to Marcus here. He's a good boy, for the most part. When he's not picking fights in school." Marcus snapped back in protest, "I didn't start those fights, I told you that." She cocked an eyebrow, "Well, you sure finished them." I guess its in the genes.

I asked out of curiosity, "So, where is Richard now?" She looked at me. "St. Mary's Prison hold." I nodded. "I would like to see him." They looked a little taken aback.
