It was just another day at school. It was November now, and it was only getting colder. I was running home because I just had an idea. Dexter said that he used a psychic to keep his plan secret, while saving me. What if we used this psychic girl to help Red? If we can figure out exactly what happened on the day Red went missing, we can help her! Right?
"No." He said. I told him my idea. "No?" I repeated. "Why no?" He turned back to observing whatever it is underneath his microscope. He then said, "I tried it before. Its allready hard enough for Alice to bring someone into someone else's mind with her, but last time we almost didn't make it back with our sanity intact." I said, "Yeah, but last time you didn't have me. Please Dexter, I feel....connected, somehow, to that thing that's inside Red. I know I can help her, but I need your permission." He turned to looked at me. He had a very sorry look in his eyes. He closed his eyes. "Allright." he said. "We'll go with your plan, but you have to go through mind training, with Alice, like I had to."
Alice and I sat in the middle of the wrestling room. Its also the Kendo meeting area that's going to have to change where we meet. Anyway, since it was after school there was nobody here. I was one of the captains already, so I had the key to this place. We sat in the middle of the room crosslegged. I asked Alice, "Uh, I don't mean to be rude, but why are we here?" Alice answered, "Because I thought this was the perfect place to concentrate. Its quiet, and nobody can interupt us. Now, to start we need to enter your own mind first. Please take my hand, close your eyes, concentrate, and we will begin." I did so.
I opened my eyes to find myself in my old room, the one I had before we moved. It was pink, all my stuffed animals I had since I was nine. I looked to see Alice beside me. She was still herself, with her straight blond hair, baggy jeans, and a purple T-shirt with a peace sign on it. I said, "Alice?" She opened her eyes and looked around the room. "Oh," she said. "Very good, that took a shorter time than I expected. I'm guessing this is your aparment room? Or is it one of your previous ones?" "Previous." I said. "I see." she said. Observing the animals.
"You are homesick, which means you have a hard time letting some things go. Which means, with the defensive perimiters around Red's mind, we have a lot of work to do."
Great.
