The Life and Times of Haley Jones~Hope: Devlin

I'm now at the usual hangout. I just got there, changed back into me, and I just sat down. Candy asked, "I went to your place, but you weren't there. Your parents said you just left, so I figured you'd be here." Devlin asked, "So, how did it go?" I said, "I'm not sure I'm up for this. I can't handle lying to my parents. Plus I think I gave them and Butch a whole new way to embarrass me." Joe Joe snickered. "What did you say?" He asked. I sighed. "I told them I couldn't get to sleep last night and I fell asleep in the bathroom." Joey was dieing now. Devlin suppressed a smile. Candy was giggling a little.

Oh, before I forget, Butch is my little brother. He turned seven last month. He is the most annoying little twerp there is! He gets away with murder, that kid. He goes through all my stuff and sprawls out all my underwear all over the house, just to bug me. What do the parents say? "Oh, he hardly knows any better. He's only playing."

"Alright, Alright! That's enough guys." I said. "There's more. I think I just encountered my first super villain." Joe Joe whistled to show he was impressed. "Haley the Hero, first day on the job and already picking fights with the biggest baddest bad guys." "I'm serious guys! He looked like he was made by Jurassic Park." Devlin was thinking, "These light's effects seem to be random. It looks like you got your powers by chance." I shrugged. "Whatever. As long as I got the powers. I really like this whole hero thing, but I need to start finishing up the battles faster." I pulled out my school stuff out of my back pack. "Can you guys help me here?" They all agreed and we got the worksheet done in no time.

Later that night, Devlin went home. His parents were working late tonight. He went to his bathroom and looked in the mirror. He looked down at his watch and started grinning. Little did Haley know that he knew very well of those lights that scattered across the city. He caught a nasty dose of the black one. He clicked his watch, and and a black ooze, covered his entire body, and he remained completely calm.

Ounce it covered him the ooze dissipated. It revealed a new power in Den-Martin. The figure glared at his reflection with his now yellow eyes. He loved this feeling of power, surging through his veins. No one will tease him, or make fun of him any more. Mr. Nice guy is long gone, it's time he lived up to his name's meaning: Fierce.

Just, not yet. He had to be patient, build up his power, before he made his move. Ounce he takes Haley's bracelet, and combine its power with his: He would be the new ruler of this pathetic planet. He would finally get the respect he so wretchedly deserves. Why waist time saving people who are going to hate you for the way you are, when you can slaughter them all?
