Cyrus Noble II Ch. 5: Something Survived

We all walked home with Angie. She said she'll catch a ride from a friend. Speaking of which we were halfway there when a car stopped beside us. A girl got out and ran to Megan. She said, "Hey, are you OK?" She was just recovering, her eyes were still red. She nodded. The girl continued, "I just wanted to say, I'm sorry. One of the guys who did it was my boyfriend. I dumped him just a second ago. I just wanted to ask if we, me and the other girls, could make it up to you? Maybe we can hang out, sometime?"

Megan looked at me, and I smiled. She straightened up a little. She was tall for her age. "Uh, OK. Sure. Yeah, that would be great." The girl smiled. "OK, I'll call the other girls tonight and put something together. My name's Mikaela, by the way." They shook hands. "I'm Megan."

She said goodbye to all of us and went off with her parents. We continued to walk on home. I said, "I say this calls for a celebration. Ice cream for everyone!" They all cheered and ran down the road to the house.

Meanwhile.......

The figure just walked into a town neighboring DC. Operation: Broadsword secured all of his labs. All, except one. He went to what would be the last place someone would expect a secret lab, a comic book store. All he needed was one lab to make his move.

He entered the comic book store known as "Fantasy World". The bored Cashier looked up from his own comic book. "Can I help you sir?" He looked like a mess. His usual suit in tatters. He couldn't even keep his usual shades, since they were broken. He shook his head no. He made his way to the back of the store and flung a poster out of the way. The employee yelled at him, "Hey! Don't you know how much money that collectible is?" He turned around towards him. The employee suddenly felt tired, he collapsed. Bishop should be more careful. That takes more energy than it seems. He dragged his finger across the wall and drew a bow and an arrow crossing each other. The wall slid to the side. He went into the elevator and went down to his secret lab. It was a back-up facility. Everyone must have abandoned it when he was exposed. He was surprised when he saw one young man walking across the hallway. He read his mind. "Dr. Grey!" He stopped and turned to him. He stammered. "M-master Bishop! I thought, WE thought that you were gone." He was still here because he was afraid if he left, Bishop would keep his promise about killing his entire family bloodline. If he was intelligent at all, he would have known that was done a long time ago.

"Is my personal teleportation machine still operational?" He asked. "Yes, Master Bishop." He had his hands behind his back. "Please follow me Doctor." They went to his office and went through a back door that was always locked whenever Bishop was not in the room.

After they went inside, Bishop locked the door behind him. The room was small, and it only carried one teleportation pad and monitor. He pulled out a gun on the doctor. The doctor looked furiously at him. "You know. I've learned many things on this job. Including how to enhance yourself with genetics. When that formula for Cyrus' blood came in," he chuckled. "It made my day." Bishop nodded. "Then I guess you wouldn't mind a little more power then. I need a distraction, and it won't be long till Broadsword comes knocking." With his speed and strength he grabbed and threw the doctor behind him. He never touched the ground, he went through the doors, and hit a placement of forgotten discharge canisters. One of the experiments, gives off a mutating goo as a side affect. It splattered all over him.

Bishop ignored his screams and teleported away to his important business.
