Cyrus Noble II Ch. 12: The Results

I'll skip the details, about us going to the base, meeting General Cutler again, and going through the shots. I didn't see Zero there surprisingly, they said he was busy tearing down Archer Co. and interrogating the people who worked there. Happy Hunting.

We were sitting in the waiting area of the medical wing. We all waited anxiously. The doctor came in with a bunch of papers. "Cyrus Noble?" he asked. "Yeah?" He nodded towards the doors. "I need to talk with you in private." I got up and followed him to the hallway. "There are a few things I need to tell you." I said, "Just say it." He nodded. "Each of the Doctor's that helped in giving birth to these children were payed off, by Bishop. They told each of the parents lies so they would not be looking for them." My fists clenched. The fact that they did that alone really pissed me off. He continued, "The one called Viktor, his parents have divorced since they thought he died in the middle of birth. The father has remarried in Wisconsin, the mother has moved to Florida and has a job as a Vice President to a large company. Megan, however, has a father. Her parents were sixteen when they bore the child, the mother died while giving birth. The father is doing quite well nowadays, he's a prison guard in New York City."

I gulped a little. They are not going to like this. "What about the others?" "Sara has a mother and a father. She also has two older brothers, about eight and nine. They are in Springfield, Missouri at the moment." I stopped him there. "Wait. How can Sara have a mother and a father? Bishop said that he's her father." The scientist looked through his papers. "Unknown. However, studies of Bishop's methods show that he often used hypnotism." He made a gesture like, There you go. "Oh." Was all I could manage. He continued, "Magnet has an older sister and both parents are still alive. They all live in the Virginia Beach area. The daughter however has a record. She was caught and charged with stealing four different times." Great, a criminal in the family. "What about Jazz?" He rechecked the papers and said, "Both parents are in Washington DC area, she has a twin sister. They thought she died as well." I sighed. Well, phase one of destroy-everything-I-ever-worked-for is complete. "What about me?" I asked.

He sighed, "Yours seems to be a little more complicated." He told me my situation, and I think I almost dropped dead. I ended the conversation quickly. "Do you have a list of the addresses?" I asked. He nodded, "Here you go." He handed me a piece of computer paper. "Thank you." He started to walk off. "Wait." I said. He stopped and turned to me. "I need you to destroy the blood samples." He smiled. "I thought you might, I destroyed them as soon as I got the results." I nodded. "Thank you."
