Jazz turned on the TV to show me what happened. They had a blurry video of me jumping out. I could see the bird dive bomb into my back, there was a flash of light, and then the figure was suddenly flying away. Like a giant bird. After the video was over and the newscaster was putting up a number to call if anybody knows anything, Jazz muted it. I looked at Zeus. He was just cleaning his feathers, like nothing eventful happened today. I asked, "So, should we like test this theory of yours?" She nodded. "It would be helpful to know what you can do, before we make a move against Bishop like that." She was kind of mad now, as apposed to being furious like before.
We were all outside now. The great thing about our new home, lots and lots of yard. Angie said that the dirt road used to get here is almost hidden. So we couldn't really get any passersby here unless they came here on purpose. Anyway Magnet was flying around on his metal board, and enjoying every minute of it. Megan was already in the air too, ready to help me if I make it that far. The bird was flying around to. I sighed. "For your own safety, take a few steps back." Viktor and the girls did so. I said, "Zeus! uh. Merge!" Or something like that. The bird snapped it's direction to me and it hit me right in the gut!
I felt strange. I was hurting all over. I felt something pulsing through my body. I couldn't identify what it was. I reopened my eyes without realizing I have closed them. I was doubled over. When the pain finally subsided, I stood up straight to see myself somewhat. I had wings lining my arms. They were partially folded. I stretched out my arms and the rest of the wings unfolded. Fifteen feet of powerful golden brown wings. I still had my hands and claws. I heard Angie say, "Where's his hair?" I felt my head, no hair, just feathers. My feet felt uncomfortable. They were fine just a second ago. I took them off to examine what was wrong. Found it. My feet are Talons; like a Eagle's talons. I'm surprised that those thing didn't pop out of my shoes.
Jazz came up behind me. "Cyrus? Is that you?" I turned slowly. I spoke, but no words came out. I grabbed my throat. I can't talk? Then I heard Sara in my head. Cyrus? You are OK, right? Yes. I just can't speak for some reason. Oh, good. I can't tell you how worried Jazz is getting. Before I could ask, she says out loud, "He's OK Jazz. He just can't talk." Jazz let out a breath of relief. "Oh. Well, can you fly?" I gave her a big toothy grin. I couched and spread out my wings upward. Then, pushing everything down towards the Earth, shot myself though the air.
Have you ever flown, like, literally flown? No? I recommend it when/if possible.
