I went to Nicole's house and knocked on the door. I waited for a while, I never actually waited this long before. Nicole usually rips the door off its hinges to see if its me....OK that was an exaggeration, but you get what I mean.
Mrs. Miller opened the door. I smiled and waved. "Hey Mrs. Miller. Is Nicole here?" That was a stupid question. Of Course she's here, I live across the street. I can see her shadow against the curtains on her bedroom window. She said, "Sorry, she's not here right now." I nodded. "Uh, can you tell her that I just wanted to talk to her." She smiled and nodded. "Of Course, Honey." I said, "Thanks." and left. I was across the street, when I turned and looked back at the house. I saw her bedroom curtains just close suddenly. I'll explain it to her tommorrow.
I caught up with her in the hallway, before first period. "Nicole! Wait up!" I ran in front of her so she had to talk to me. She was walking away with her friends. "Hey, would you listen to me for ten minutes?" She looked into my eyes, which is the most she's done in a while. "What?" She said bitterly. I said, "Listen, Jean and I are not a couple. I went over to her house last night and she explained it to me." She tried to walk off again. "Oh that's so great for you!" She said to me. I stepped in front of her. "Hey! I'm not done. Jean and I are just helping each other become more popular to the public. Which means we are just friends, that's it! We can still date." She looked at me with disgust and shoved me out of her way. That went so much better in my head.
One of her friends came up to me. I think her name is Katie. "You don't get it, do you?" I spun around to her. She was one of Nicole's closest friends. "Please, enlighten me. I am so lost." She sighed. "She really likes you, and when she sees you with someone like Jean Parker, then that makes her feel like she's not enough for you." I was a little takken aback. "Are you kidding me? My doctor perscribed me a healthy dosage of Nicole every day. I can't live without her!"
She literally stuck her nose up and started to walk off. She said, "That's not what she thinks."
Maybe its better if I just stopped hanging out with Jean. She's a cool person and all, but she ain't no Nicole.
