Cyrus Noble part 26: We need to get outta here.

We were running down a hallway. Some underground base I guess. I asked Omega where we were. She said, "I believe this the stationary base in Chicago." I stopped, and she did as well. "Wait. Chicago? As in the windy city?" She turned to me. "Yes. Chicago, North Dakota. Is that so shocking?" I said, "Well, YES. I was on the west coast of the United States of America. In Virginia. How did I get all the way over here?" She thought about this. "I believe they have a Machine that allows Teleportation between two areas. However, the flaw is that there has to be two working pads to work. Like a doorway leading into a room." "Can you take me there?" She nodded and I continued to follow her to the teleportation room. We didn't even get to the end of the hallway when I saw something that should be in a science fiction movie. It was a robot. It looked like it was just a hull with a big red eye, surrounded by six small red eyes. It had four limbs. Gatling guns for hands, and backward legs. It was about seven feet tall and took up half of the hallway. It just saw us. Omega's hands started to glow. She put them out and a see-through shield popped up, just in time to block the bullets shot by the machine. I gave her a look, but she said nothing. I guess this took a lot of her concentration.

I said, "Lower the shield so I can slide under. You can take it out from behind." Without saying anything she put an opening in the shield so I can slide through. So I did. When I was behind the machine, it started turning around. It wasn't even turned all the way around when Omega blasted a hole in it's eye. It shut down. I nodded to her in respect. She then said, "The room isn't too far away. We're almost there." And we continued.

After an hour of running and taking down robots, Omega called over her shoulder. "It should be just around the corner!" Then I heard the speakers come on. It was Bishop. "Omega. I am rather dissapointed of your betrayal. Cyrus. In case you thought you actually won. Let me give you a reality check." It cut into an audio feed. I heard a mechanicalized version of my voice come on speaker. It said, "Sir. Mission Complete. Mutants have been terminated, as planned."
